I expect that Monte Cristo and Valjean would get along about as well as Dumas and Hugo, which is to say not at all! :) But it would be quite a scene.

That, or some creative use of hashish. Actually Javert on pot is an interesting idea. :)

ETA: and of course the other question is: what would Valjean do with Villefort, Danglars and Mondego?

I hadn't heard about this. I am now at flail. My Mum still raves about the old '60s BBC version (Brian Blessed as Porthos) so hopefully they'll do it well again. And yay for a not actually evil Cardinal. And yay for giving Aramis something to do.
