Day 19 - Best TV show castI take this to mean "best cast of actors", not "best cast of characters", which would be a very different thing. Even so, it's not easy to answer, not least because an actor just marking time or having cameos in one show might reveal he or she has actually amazing range in another. Writers form crushes on weird people. ;-)

I don't know, his crushes on Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker seem very reasonable to me, as they resulted in the Wesley and Illyria scenes from s5 which were directly inspired from having watched the two play Shakespeare at his house. :) (And of course the soon to be released Much Ado, which I'm looking forward to.) Re: Tamoh Pennikett (aka Helo on BSG and Ballard on Dollhouse, I didn't have the impression he was crushed upon, though evidently JW liked BSG a lot, given he also hired Lee Adama and Saul Tigh for guest spots. I mean, I didn't like Ballard as a character very much or thought he was very interesting, but that was mostly because the writing could never decide whether his obsession with Caroline/Echo was supposed to be creepy or romantic and because other than looking for the Dollhouse in s1 and thus providing excuses for exposition he didn't have a function in the narrative.

Incidentally, I don't think writerly crushes necessarily translate in screentime, btw. Russell T. Davies in ( ... )
