That is by far my favorite commentary on the Petraeus scandal. Also, I will check out the Skyfall fic recs, as I took am dismayed by the Q/Bond (was rather hoping for more Bond/Silva, since at least there was some real tension there). Thanks!

You're welcome. And well, my current theory as to why Q/Bond (as opposed to, say, Bond/Felix Leiter, who had a far slashier scene in Quantum of Solace and a canonical friendship), and why that trumps the potential Bond/Silva enemy slash (non existant so far) which you'd think have taken off otherwise, beyond "Ben Wishaw pretty": because young Q is a geek. Which apparantly means people can treat him as a self insert identify with him in a way they can't with super athletic spies.

...on a non-theoretical note: it's boring so not the pairing I'm interested in.
