I have actually seen a few "Coulson really did have a life and isn't screwing the Avengers" stories - can't link to any off-hand, but they exists. More stories where he stays dead would be nice...

Actually, it occurs to me that a political science major *would* have direct application to some SHIELD positions. It can't be easy negotiating the whole US/international agency confusion, after all. Though Darcy being Darcy, she'd be more likely to organize an investigation into the shadowy committee behind the organization, especially after they tried to nuke NYC. It's not like there's an NDA in the world that will stop the Avengers, Stark especially, talking about that, after all...

There's a funny one by websandwhiskers on AO3 where Coulson is grooming her to be a SHIELD liasion to Asgard ;).

I quite like Darcy, and fics where she works for SHIELD, but it _has_ become something of a trope.

Oh, it's not that I don't like the idea of Darcy working for SHIELD, but it has become such a trope that I felt compelled to spoof it a little.
