I don't seem to have commented on Fear No More at the time, but I did like it, pretty much for the reasons you mention.

I hadn't read Clean-up Operations, but I'm glad I've done so now, and I particularly enjoyed the small role played by Decker, which caught his unpleasant practicality nicely.

And I loved Surprises then, and love it still now. It's odd, I don't really care one way or the other about the Third Doctor, though he's probably the one I knew best; I started with Troughton, and I suppose I remembered enough of him to feel vaguely dissatisfied that he had to be replaced. But Jo and the Master? Beloved companions of my childhood. And I would like to see an elderly Jo refusing to take any nonsense from a young Master, so I'm very glad you gave them to me.

Re: the Decker cameo, thank you - he absolutely had to be there, because of that role which was quintessential in CoE as well.

And I'm glad you like the other two!

Pretty much, though I loved it and read it several times the first day. At first I was in such shock over the audaciousness of the topic, it took me a couple of reads to catch on.

I thought 'The Quality of Mercy' quite good as well. Haven't figured out which Yuletide fic is yours - probably it's in a fandom I don't read, though I'm also finding the archive change difficult to navigate through. (Unless it's that Sandman one I really liked?)

No Sandman, alas, but I just checked my tag for the fandom in question, and you replied to one of my meta entries with "hm. Must check out." so whether or not you did and are reading fanfic for same is within the realm of possibilities. :)

I think I haven't gotten to whatever it is - I recall a handful of times I've said this on your blog, but for the life of me don't think I've gotten to whatever it must be yet. I've spent the last month watching music videos and catching up on the graphic novels I missed. ('Swallow Me Whole' was disappointing.)
