fannish5: What five series would you resurrect if you could?

I'm answering this from the ideal assumption I could resurrect some of these directly after they were cancelled, i.e. with the same writers/actors/producers available instead of bound by other commitments, aged or died.

I'm a Deadwood pusher; I sidle up to retired intellectual men with the box-set in my hand, hissing "Watch this!". In the UK, it was only shown on Sky One (a paid-for satellite/cable channel), so many of its natural audience never had a chance to see it.

And to celebrate I will use one of my favourite icons, which I hardly ever dare to use for fear people find it offensive. Of course it's offensive. It's Deadwood. But if you know the history of Trixie and Al, and the tone of voice in which he delivers the words, it's much more than that.

Indeed it is. You know, back when watching the first season, when the episode came where Trixie goes back to Al with the gold, I was afraid the show would make this look harmless and/or go for a Western version of Pretty Woman approach to prostitution. (Which wouldn't have fit either with what happened before nor with reality.) Or would do the "Sol saves Trixie from her horrible life" story, which also wouldn't have made me happy. Instead, they did what they did, and Trixie's development - and the way she and Al relate to each other post s1 - was amazing.
