I still adore that Five Things about Warren, and I'll have you know that whenever I'm in a DVD store, I inevitably have long lingering looks at the box sets of DS9, just because of you. Also, meme me?

I live in the hope the long lingering looks will one way lead to you actually having a fling with DS9. :)

Five subjects:

Making fabulous illustrations for fanfiction

Six and Peri

Vids

Crossovers

Being a writing prodigy Seriously, if I hadn't known I'd have guessed the Big Damn Petrelli Story was written by someone at least 30.

One day, one day. *g* Also, the BDPS? Seriously? Every time I think of it I am deeply embarrassed, because there are ten million things wrong with it and this is not the standard "oh, the creator is their own harshest critic" thing, this is the "no seriously, many aspects of this story are not that great" thing. Like the bit where I wrote a sex scene without actually knowing the mechanics of it. You mean the other guy has to get jacked off? Who knew! But I blush at your compliment regardless.

his enlightened state always rings true, hard-won, and as endearing as his early incarnation as a wily ambassador and still bloodthirsty ex freedom fighter.

Even right up until the end I never stopped hoping that Tom Zarek would become G'Kar. There's some good meta in comparing and contrasting those two characters.

I'm not even a particular fan of the Trio's, but your five things AU about Warren belongs to my all-time Buffyverse favourite reads.

Something else I just realised about Londo and G'Kar, not only is there a role-reversal in S1-3 as to which of them is the tormentor and which the victim, there's another role-reversal in S4-5 in which each of them in turn gets tormented by a third party and the other has to stand by and watch for higher political reasons...

ZOMG, you're right. I hadn't noticed. Though I've found it intriguing that in The very long night of Londo Mollari, when we get a literal reversal of G'Kar's flogging, Londo's subconscious doesn't cast G'Kar in Londo's old role but in Cartagia's. Though of course this is AFTER he has G'Kar chastise him that "whether it was me or my world, you said nothing, and you had an obligation to speak out", so dream!G'Kar goes from accusing conscience to inflicting punishment.

The witchcraft trial letter sounds fascinating! And we did read many of the same formative books, didn't we? What were your favorites when you were even smaller, still in single digits?

Letter: More about the man who wrote it as well as a link to an English transcript here.

Singe digit favourites: I was 8 when I read the Angelique novels 1-6, which I all loved (though probably 1 and 6 best); I didn't care so much for the subsequent sequels.

Dumas: can't decide between the Musketeers and the Count, sorry! I also liked his Emma Hamilton novel, inaccurate as I later found it to be, but hey, it's Dumas.

Waltari's The Egyptian was my favourite about ancient Egypt until I became a teenager, which was when I discovered Pauline Gedge and Child of the Morning.

Well, Warren wasn't meant to be liked. *g* I'd be interested to see what you make of the story. (For which I've also written a dvd meme commentary a while back.)

Fanged Four: exactly! *revels in their splendour*
