This is why I love my flist: commenting on my Elizabeth-Scarlett comparison, Yahtzee wrote Pirate!Scarlett O'Hara fanficIn other news, today shall be spent packing suitcases for my three-weeks-on-the-road-through-England trip. During which time I'll be stopping at Stratford-upon-Avon to see Patrick Stewart perform Shakespeare. If anything else ( Read more... )

As you're about to leave for your trip to England, just a short question from your (slightly paranoid) Doctor Who supplier...

Did you get the parcel with early Doctors/Davison episodes? I'm afraid I must have sent it to you at a point of time when you were already in Bamberg, and by now I've started wondering whether you ever received it at all.

Plus, since you were having so much fun with the Multiverse ficathon, I figured that you also might enjoy a short glimpse at the underlying physics ...

I received them - I was in Munich for a day before Bayreuth, and so could collect them - but alas the parental situation prevented me from watching more than the first two installments of "Kinda". (I can claim the DVD player, no problem, but watching stuff on my laptop brings my mother after the first hour telling me this is not good for the eyes and wouldn't I rather be outside...)

Thanks for the link!

Have a great time. From your itinerary I think you'll end up seeing more of the UK than I have *g*.

I am right in thinking that you're travelling all the way here by car aren't I, because flights in and out of the UK are severely delayed at the moment!

Yes, we're going by car, and I so hope my mother doesn't watch the news until we go, because that's how our England trip got derailed last time...

Keep the TV remote control away from her or tell her that altering your trip lets terrorists win!

I was wondering the same thing -- this is clearly not a good time to be traveling by plane, but you should be fine going by car.

Have a wonderful time -- I'm very sorry that we won't be able to meet up.

No chance of you coming back through France, huh?

Thank you, and we do cross France, but we already booked our ferry, and the AP is very fixed on the time table. However, on the way back (Sep. 1st), I'll ask him whether he can't make a detour to Paris!

(And yes, just one AP - my mother is going to a spa/wellness thing in the meantime...)
