It was so satisfying to have Jimmy back eventually...and yet morally right to put him behind bars, after he got to show off his lawyery magick once more. But eventually he did build a time machine turning 7 years into 86 !

And of course it was such a romantic ending. Who would have thought, 6 years ago, that, when all is said and done, a prequel about Saul Goodman would turn out to be a love story?

I never cared about Mike or the Salamanca/Fring stuff, although Lalo was fun to watch and I loved Nacho (Ignacio's fate was so poignant and Michael Mando killed it in his last episode), and I'm glad the show ended with what really mattered : Jimmy and Kim.

Re: Mike, if you think about it, his story within this show was wrapped up in a brutal yet also undeniably just way - when Nacho's father cut his "I'll see to it that justice is done" assurances short by saying what Mike's talking about is vengeance, not justice, and that Mike is a gangster like rest of them. That sums Mike's development on the show up, nothing more to add, and like you said - Jimmy and Kim were the heart of the show, and so the last episodes needed to be about them.

It occurs to me that Walt's speech about chemistry from the BB pilot - decay, transformation etc. - which has obvious implications for Breaking Bad in a way also works for Better Call Saul, though in a different way. We saw Jimmy transform more than once, and certainly decay was involved - but if ( ... )
