Daredevil Season 2

Which I finished marathoning. Unspoilery summation: acting good, new characters impressive, plots headscratchey, show continues to want to have it both ways re: violence and death, it did some of my least favourite tropes only to turn them around by the follow up, and I continue to like but not love parts of it while remaining unfannish about it.

I was really annoyed by this season, which I am calling Daredevil: So! Many! Ninjas!

It seemed like in taking characters from 80s comics they forgot that you don't actually have to take all the dialogue from 80s comics and action movies. Every single line felt like a tagline for a movie poster. Also it seemed like most of the characters were having the same conversations over and over. Maybe it's a consequence of binge watching but it was frustrating. Overall it made me appreciate Jessica Jones even more, and hope that Luke Cage takes its cues from that series rather than Daredevil.

Do we know which creative team is involved? Of course, so far, each Marvel series seems to have its own, so knowing that probably wouldn't tell us anything. However, since MCU Luke Cage was introduced in Jessica Jones, my guess is they'll more likely build on the narrative and telling ways there.
