This trailer for an upcoming Supergirl tv show (which I hadn't known was upcoming) awoke powerful Lois & Clark nostalgia in me - a DC tv show which doesn't go for grimdark but for joy and dorkiness in its characters? Bring it on! This looks delightful.

Also, it appears that Cat Grant (Calista Grant) is the publisher, which is lovely, and Dean Cain will be playing Fred Danvers (Kara’s dad?), which makes me giggle happily, and Helen Slater will playing Sylvia Danvers (Kara’s mom?), which makes me say, awwww.

I am so excited about that Supergirl trailer! The joy and adorability and pleasure in using her powers! The fact that everyone important to her seems to know her identity! Above all, the centrality of her relationship with her sister in her becoming a superhero! Sign me up!
