Could someone explain why Peter suddenly decided to end his search for the thief who had killed his Uncle Ben?Because at first he was all about vengeance on that one guy but then the thing on the bridge happened and he suddenly saw the good he could do. There's that whole bit after with him talking to Gwen about how he felt from saving those people

Kinda surprised you're down on the Lizard. That's a very Spidey thing. The Lizard in the comic has rampaged in both the swamps and the cities before. Trying to turn more people into reptiles like him is fairly on point with the character.
Actually, the Lizard first made his appearance in the Spidey comics back in 1963. It's just . . . well, he's not a big favorite of mine. I enjoyed Rhys Ifans' performance. I simply didn't care for the character . . . especially in a Spider-Man tale.
By the way, it did not borrow the subplot from the 1st X-Men movie either. This transform the populace thing is oldhat. You might as well say they stole it from Stegron when he last entered New York and tried to revert everyone into a more primitive state.
Just a lot of lack of originality all around, isn't it? Then again, the first "X-MEN" movie is my least favorite of the franchise. Like "THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN", I liked it a lot, but I didn't love it.
