On a side note, I remember being EXTREMELY disappointed when the David Suchet version of this turned out to be so bland. Suchet had done an unabridged audiobook of the story, and provided his voice for a video-game version. He knew the material backwards, and THIS is what we got? It doesn't hold a candle to the version you reviewed, which is what really depressed me.

Actually, Bergman herself was surprised that she won. She thought her competitors were more worthy of the award. Yet . . . she didn't reject it.
