Hell, even General Grievous, whom I have always harbored a low opinion, was better written than her. Just one of many opinions with which I agree. I enjoyed the red salty sands a lot, and Luke and Leia's scene. The rest was difficult to follow as a plot, although the casino set piece pleased. So Boyega and Ridley were talented enough to entertain and Hamill really wowed me, the story ought to have been better. You expressed this more than I could; fine, thoughtful review. I could tell it was written with love of the franchise.

Think Solo will hold up?

With Ron Howard at the helm, instead of Lord and Miller, I think there is a good chance that "SOLO" will hold up. I'm developing a deep suspicion that Disney might prove to be better at stand alone films than any film trilogy.
