This was a really good essay, I enjoyed reading it. I 100% agree with you that it's simply not in Robin's nature to abandon his child. It was difficult enough for him to rationalize that to him, Marian had been dead for several hundred years and that even though she was now "alive", he was a widower and had mourned his wife already. He really struggled with the idea of honouring his marriage vows but also honouring his new life with Regina. And "Marian" (before the reveal) was actually on board with that, she was comfortable with that. Which made her awesome and showed why Robin fell in love with her in the first place ( ... )

For me, my only problem is Robin not leaving her once he knows. If only because of Roland. Yes, there is the unborn child to think of, but Roland should come first.

Also, Robinw as sexually assaulted by Zelena. That was rape. It doesn't matter that she's a woman, it is still rape. But then again, Graham was raped by Regina too, so I don't think the show really understands what rape is.

I do believe that Robin and Regina will get their happy ending, though. I only wish the writers cared as much about that as they do about Emma's happiness or Snow and Charmings. They get to have happy couples, so why not Regina. Regina is never boring regardless of what is going on with her.

Why? Both Roland and the unborn child should be equally considered. They're his children.

Because GOOD DRAMA is not about the main characters being consistently happy. Even the Charmings had to endure a great deal of strife and angst. That's why I was happy that they were interesting again.
