Basically. That investors should realize that the strategy is a long-term one, preparing for the day when entertainment hardware with the MS logo on it won't scare off people.
On that note, have they fixed the overheating issues?
The original xbox's game selection blowed ass, and I see more of the same from the current 360 selection. If this article is true then I predict true failure coming for the 360, as the original xbox never did very well on cornering the small sales market. Many original xbox owners simply were not gaming enthusiasts. They were often technophiles with money to blow who heard the xbox had the most powerful hardware of the new systems and figured they should just buy it and stash it under the TV. Newsflash - the best hardware does not mean the best games.
Also, xbox 360 is fucking huge. Almost as big as the original. Gah.

As an XBox owner, I agree. I like mindless, simple games -- Halo, Doom 3, some fighting games. I don't really care at all for RPGs and more involved games. I never play video games for more than an hour or an hour and a half.
I feel that the XBox, near as I can figure, accomodates us casual gamers FAR better than the PS.

and from what I can tell, demand is still outstripping supply for the 360.
Maybe they will be reliably in stock by my birthday in August. ;)
