I think your plan sounds very sensible. It would make your commute easier for a few months, and it seems like it would give everyone time to figure out their options.

After a conversation with the twins this evening: I want to rent for a year to take a bit of time out, B1 wants to buy her own place straight off the bat, and B2 wants to go to theological college.

Which is not quite what we were hoping she would do, but...it is her life.

The difficulty will be getting our stepdad (and to a lesser extent, our mum) to accept that this is her choice. And to ensure that B2 doesn't end up using us as her fallback option...
