The only site I could imagine being worse for fandom than Tumblr is Twitter. Like Tumblr, Twitter serves its purpose well and fills a niche in the web 2.0 landscape c. 2006. I really couldn't tell you why I have a SP fandom Twitter account. Well, that's not entirely true. But it's literally just for being like, "I can't write because I'm sick", which is so whiny I don't actually need anyone to see it. Less stupidly, it can be sort of helpful for hashing out ideas.

Ultimately you're right on all accounts, lol. It was fun to use during D*C that year though.

Oh my god, did I not reply to this? So like, listen, I have a SP Twitter and you're right, it's very useful and fun for isolated things like tweeting Dragoncon -- I've had some good times with it for that purpose. But I think it's similar to Tumblr in that it's good for a very targeted use and expanding it into a larger-scale fandom portal would be ... problematic.
