gonna catch up a little on my crochet posting.

a few months back I joined a great community called ravelry. it's a crochet and knitting community all about sharing patterns and ideas and friendships over fiber arts. much love for this site!

so they did something recently that I just adored called Ravelympics. it reminded me so of NaNoWriMo. the idea was to sign up to start a project during the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics, and to be done by the closing ceremonies. I signed up for 5 projects, figuring since 4 of them were small I could finish them. even though I was losing 4 days to GenCon! yeah, right. *grin*

so due to the logistics of when I was able to carry around a lot of different colors of yarn, I started on my 1 BIG project 1st. and that was the only one I finished in time. but I did medal in the Ravelympics! :) I made a pretty awesome backpack! and it qualified me for a medal in Bag-n-Tote Backstroke, and since I made it for my niece it also qualified for Gift Knits Pentathlon.

my medals! :)

and I think the backpack just rocks!
