Walking

Since late March, I have been walking. First I walked to work in the mornings, three days a week, just under 4 miles round trip. After the semester ended, I walked in the park down the street, about 3 miles round trip, 4-5 days a week.

My goal is to do in Chico what I did in Paris: walk myself back down to slender. You see, in terms of geographical ( Read more... )

Nobody's up at dark o'clock other than other people who look like total dorks. Anybody else unfortunate enough to be up that early isn't awake yet anyhow!

Good for you! Here's to a speedy re-introduction to The Magic Dress!

I don't know. I've seen some joggers and bikers who are all decked out in some fancy-schmancy gear ... while I'm plodding along in old sweatpants, a grungy t-shirt, and an old-fashioned walkman-style CD player. I am probably the only person on the planet who doesn't have an ipod at this point. But if I look like the world's biggest dork in the mornings, at least the payoff will be worth it. :D

pfft. ipod. I have a $10 mp3 player that has so far outlived and out-performed two of the man-thing's ipods. And that's not including the hundreds of issues he's had with itunes!

I also have an ancient walkman-style cd player that was the cheapest model I could find from YEARS ago. That thing still works like a charm! Only Boy uses it, though, because I have no idea where any CDs we may still own are, and he has quite a few.

Screw ipods, I say!

Yeah, I'm pretty happy about it. In fact, I went work clothes shopping yesterday, and sure enough, I'm definitely smaller. So here's to pounding the pavement to Celtic fiddle tunes!

Actually, I have some online vegan friends to thank for this. We basically said that we would do this together (all of us get up at o'dark thirty, do our respective workouts, and post about it). That way, we could hold each other accountable. That was what did the trick for me. I would have felt like such a schmuck if I didn't do this and post about it the way I said I would.
