And you should check out MagFest. I won't be there this year, since it's opposite Arisia, but I definitely plan to go again in years when it'll conveniently chain together with Christmas at fiddledragon's parents' place.
The video game remix scene trends more towards rock and electronica, so as a singer-songwriter/folk guitarist, I was a bit of an outlier, but I did find my place. It's a gathering of people who are obsessed both with video games and with good music, there's plenty of tabletop gaming, and it looks like a good con to sell crafts at as well (especially if they're video-game related). Next time I go, I'll definitely be in touch with you (and other DC-area Sassafrass folks, if they're interested) about making an expedition of it.
