[The feed flicks on to reveal a narrow, pale face with gray eyes, framed by short, messy, ashy blonde hair. Expression carefully stoic, her eyes are contrastingly fervent, intrigued, a little disoriented and afraid-as any new arrival can be expected to be.

She seems to be examining the device with some interest, if not outright shock, murmuring

[Out of all that, Usagi chooses the last part to focus on. Her eyes in the video screen widen enormously.]

Ehhh? It's happened before to you?

[That's really rare, even here.]

[Yui looks a little relieved to see another face in the middle of nowhere, but it soon melts into a detached but still pleasant smile.]

Yes. My original home is a place called Japan; I was pulled into a book called The Universe of the Four Gods and thus transported into that world.

[She doesn't bother asking Usagi if this is another book world, because, well. If she's a native, then she wouldn't know.]

Eh? I'm from Japan, too! From Tokyo!

Really? [Someone she's met in a different world who comes from the same place she does? This is new.] I am too, actually. The book I got pulled into was in the National Library.

( He's silent for a brief moment as he thinks over her last words, but recovers quickly enough and speaks; )

That's exactly what this place is; another world we've all been all been pulled into. Unfortunately though, there doesn't seem to be a known way out of this one besides through sheer random chance.

( A beat. ) This place is called Adstringendum, fitting really. We were brought here supposed spirits known as the Animus.

Adstringendum. [Her pronunciation is careful but correct.]

So basically, myself and others are trapped inside a dystopic hellhole on the whims of some intangible and, I assume, since they haven't yet been eradicated, practically invincible spirits?

[Irritation, muted panic, and despair battle for dominance in her face. Her words are a staunch denial of the latter two.]

Lovely. Just lovely.

Yes, you're exactly correct. ( At the final statement his head tilts ever so slightly, but sighs and sits back a bit. )

They also have this enjoyment out of playing games with us. Every other week or so these events of sorts occur, from the completely mundane if a bit annoying to the... less than enjoyable. Just last week we had our own personal music playing nonstop for the entirety of the week.

[She has no words for this. She sighs, nearly puts down the PCD, but thinks better of it. Yui settles for raking fingers through her bangs, distracted, confused, panicked. Nakago... where is he?]

The cherry on top. Naturally.

[After a brief pause, she seems to realize how her sarcasm must come off rude.]

I'm sorry. It's not you, I promise, it's just... [She gestures vaguely to her surroundings.]

Moreso than many of my peers, I would assume.

[She amends, looking a little perturbed in remembering:] ...from my world, that is. I don't think I could speak for others.

Of course. Though I think it works either way you take it, really. Not a lot of people here were used to it, either, as far as I know.

[She nods. Looks like she's still the only one to be familiar with being dropped into a random world with little warning.]

It's not really the most common occurrence.

Adstringendum. It's not one world, as it's been explained to me. It's several that have been--are being--crushed together. Worlds, and times.

If you're used to other worlds, you're a step ahead of many of the residents here.

Crushed together? So there's a little of everything?

Just one other world. I thought that this Adstringendum place might be similar, but it seems my hypothesis is being proven more incorrect the more I learn.

It's not unexpected. Residents here are helpful, however, what little they know.

They seem to be helpful enough, yes, for which I'm grateful.

[She gives a patient but patronizing smile to the little girl, similar to the one she always gives Miaka.]

That happens to me sometimes, too.

[Well... actually, it doesn't, but there's no use ragging on a kid, now is there?]
