I simply love writing for this series, so although I feel like I’m giving away too much, I still continue writing. After all, I’ll slip these one-shots into the actual series when I’m finally started with the series :3
Note: in my journal, the one-shots for LL universe is sorted in chronological order, so if you want to know which story happens first, please do check my journal ^____^
Anyway, enjoy~
A Box of Brownies
It was February fourteen, the legendary Valentine’s day, when girls flock over towards their idol to try their luck in giving them chocolates, in hopes of getting accepted.
Plus, the senior last year had graduated, and last year’s junior proceeded to be the seniors now.
So, why wasn’t he the least bit happy at the thought that he could give his idol a chocolate in peace, without having his idol think it was meant for his good friend instead?
“Don’t sulk, hyung. You were the one who accepted him willingly,” Junsu reminded as he munched on the piece of brownie Jaejoong had made for him.
“Shut up, Su,” Jaejoong grunted and rested his head on his folded arms again while Yoochun looked at him in confusion, but then went back to eating his share of brownie.
The answer was, he was told that he was actually engaged to said good friend-and two freaking years ago!-and that he accepted that fact a few days ago. Meaning, he no longer harbored any feeling towards said idol.
“Well, isn’t that a good thing, though?” Junsu commented randomly. “I mean, hey, Yunho-hyung likes you and you know that. You still don’t know if Seven-hyung likes you or not, right?”
“Whatever you say,” Jaejoong mumbled almost inaudibly.
“So, are you still giving Seven-hyung chocolate this year?” Changmin butted in, nibbling at the crust of his piece of brownie. “I mean, you didn’t get to do it last year, right?”
“Yeah… I guess I am,” Jaejoong shrugged, eyeing the two bags he had prepared. They contained the same piece of brownie, but one was bigger than the other. A lot bigger, in fact.
Changmin patted his back understandingly and went back to eating.
“But hyung, this brownie is a little bitter. Did you use dark chocolate to make this or something?” Junsu commented as he licked his lips. “I like the last one better. It’s sweeter.”
“Shut it, Su,” Yoochun teased, nudging Junsu’s rib playfully. “Who cares what you think?”
“You’re mean,” Junsu pouted.
Jaejoong laughed as he watched Junsu and Yoochun run around the canteen, sending chocolate crumbs flying everywhere as they did so. He then got up and took the bags. “I’m going to put them in my locker.”
Changmin waved at him and took another piece of brownie from his plate. He was thankful Jaejoong agreed to give him five pieces of brownie.
“Mm… have to persuade Jae-hyung to bake more…” Changmin sighed dreamily.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“Did you get it open?”
“Haha! Yes I did!”
“Okay, so…”
“Which one is for Seven-hyung?”
“Which one do you think?”
“I think… it’s the big one. I mean, he likes Seven-hyung right?”
“Mm… I think he once mentioned that he likes brownies.”
“See! The big box must be for Seven-hyung!”
“Okay then… let’s get into action!”
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“Hey hyung, are you coming home with us?” Junsu asked as he stood beside Jaejoong and waited for him to finish shoving his textbooks into his locker.
“I don’t know. You guys are going to the arcade right?” Jaejoong asked, putting everything in place and took out the bags of brownies. “I don’t like the noise. Go ahead and enjoy yourselves.”
“Pssh, you’re saying that because Yunho-hyung is picking you up today,” Junsu snorted and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
“Since when did I go to arcades?” Jaejoong sighed, shaking his head.
“Oh right,” Junsu mumbled to himself as he thought it over. “Oh, well then… wait, why does that bag spit out crumbs?”
“Bags don’t spit, Su-ah,” Jaejoong frowned at him.
“No! Really!” Junsu restated as he pointed at the said bag. It was the bag containing the bigger piece of brownie, and some chocolate crumbs were falling off through the small gap at the base of the paper bag.
“What the-?” Jaejoong’s eyes widened in surprise as he raised the bag up before he lowered it again to see the contents.
“Hyung? Hyung! What’s wrong!?” Junsu asked in panic as he rushed towards Jaejoong’s side and peeked into the paper bag. “Oh my God,” he gasped when he saw what was inside. “They did it again?”
Jaejoong nodded weakly, remembering how his chocolate for Seven last year was ruined by his fangirls.
“What are you going to do now?” Junsu asked, worry clear on his face.
“I’ll do what I can,” Jaejoong felt his shoulders slumping. “You go now. Yoochun and Changmin are waiting for you.”
“You sure you okay?” Junsu asked, looking at Jaejoong skeptically.
“Yes. Now go,” Jaejoong ordered, and after Junsu disappeared from his sight, he turned to the archery club changing room.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“Jae? What’s wrong?” Seven asked as soon as Jaejoong stepped into the changing room, looking all disturbed.
“Um, nothing major,” Jaejoong smiled weakly at him. “Here, this is for you,” he said, giving Seven the small box of brownie.
Whispers broke out as soon as he did that.
“For me? Thanks!” Seven beamed slightly as he accepted it gratefully.
“You’re welcome,” Jaejoong smiled. “Consider it a friendship gift. I should’ve given you one last year… then it would hold a different meaning.”
Seven smiled at him. “Good luck, Jae.”
“Thanks,” he said, and went out of the changing room.
As soon as he was out of the changing room, Seven turned serious all of a sudden and he turned around to face the other members.
“Tell me, who ruined Jaejoong’s cake?” he grunted out, nearly glaring at the girls who were surprised to see him like that. He then smirked slightly when no one answered. “You must’ve thought the big one was for me, eh?”
“Tell you what, I’ll give you time until tomorrow. If no one admitted, I will kick you all out of this club!”
The girls then left the changing room with a heavy feeling at the pit of their stomachs.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
Jaejoong walked over to the car park area and approached the metallic black-colored car he was already familiar with, then he saw the even more familiar figure.
“Hey, Yunho,” he greeted as he walked over and rested his arms on top of the car’s roof. “How was your day?”
Yunho looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “How was your day? You never ask that unless you had a crappy day at school.”
“Maybe I did,” Jaejoong shrugged and rested his chin on his arms.
“Jae,” Yunho called as he walked over to him. “What’s wrong, Boo?”
“I…” Jaejoong mumbled, but then sighed. “It’s nothing.”
Yunho patted Jaejoong’s head and opened the door for him before going to the driver seat. Once he was inside, he took a small bag from the backseat and gave it to Jaejoong.
“Your Valentine’s gift,” he answered simply. “Do you like it?”
Jaejoong peered into the box and saw three pieces of the chocolate cake that he liked so much, but was so expensive so he couldn’t buy it often.
Before Yunho could ask if Jaejoong liked it again, Jaejoong broke down crying.
“Jae!? Jae, what’s wrong!?” he asked frantically as he turned on his seat to face Jaejoong and pulled him close. “What’s the matter, Boo? I won’t know if you don’t tell.”
Jaejoong grasped the front of Yunho’s shirt desperately as he tried to stop crying. “I’m sorry,” he mumbled out in between sobs. “I’m sorry I can’t give you anything in return.”
Yunho patted Jaejoong’s back lightly. “Since when are you worried about such thing?” he asked, but then he knew what he meant when he saw the small bag.
“They…” Yunho narrowed his eyes at the sight of the bag. “They did it again?” he growled out.
Jaejoong nodded weakly and grabbed the bag. “They thought this was for Seven-hyung,” he explained, and gave the bag to Yunho. “I don’t want to make you eat ruined things again…”
Yunho looked inside the box. Reaching out, he took a piece of the crumb and ate it slowly.
“Yun?” Jaejoong blinked, a little disbelieving.
“Looks like they only crushed it,” Yunho commented with a smile. “Brownies crumble easily, so it doesn’t really matter. I’ll take this. Thank you, Boo.”
“You’re too nice,” Jaejoong accused, glaring a little at Yunho.
“Maybe I am, maybe I am not,” Yunho answered, still smiling at him and then kissed the top of Jaejoong’s head. “But one thing for sure, I am always nice to you.”
“Sappy dork, as always,” Jaejoong grinned and wiped his tears away. “Come on, let’s get out of his place,” he urged, strapping on the seat belt.
Yunho grinned as he did so himself and started the engine.
“Glad you feel better now. Wouldn’t want you to have eyes like a frog’s when we’re out to dinner later.”
That statement gave him a hard shove on his arm, and he nearly swerved into the school gate.
End of Story
This story happens before Rule No. 20, which happens on White Day ^____^ the dinner date mentioned in that one-shot is mentioned again in this one.
Again, I made a reference to the actual series in this one. Guess which one it is.
As for the real-life thing, it’s the “Who cares what you think?”. My friend likes someone and is trying to bake brownie for him. She gave it to people to ask their opinion, and when I said I like the previous one better, she laughed and said, “Who cares what you think?” -_-;;;
I’m feeling happy now, and I’m going to babble a little XDDD I worked on a banner for “Four Seasons”, and I managed to do it ^____^ I might do one for SoM too when I have the time :DDDD
Here’s the banner. Tell me what you think ^____^ I’ll make changes if necessary, so tell me what you think :3
