LJ's being a pain again... anyway, here's the second part
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“This is your apartment?” Jaejoong asked in disbelief as he looked around. “When was the last time you cleaned this place?” he asked in distaste, and visibly cringed when he saw boxes of takeouts stacked at one corner of the room.
“Hey, I live alone, okay? No one bothered!” Yunho protested.
“I’ll be the first then,” Jaejoong huffed. “We’ll work on this tonight. And I’ll make dinner.”
“Really?” Yunho asked in excitement.
“Yah, I’ve been here a lot of times, and whenever I visit Kibum, I cook for him,” Jaejoong said. “That’s why I know some human appliances,” he added.
“You used to not know?” Yunho asked in amazement, and suddenly an idea popped up to his mind. “Hey, do you know what this is?” he asked as he pointed at the small television.
“Um… no…”
“Well,” Yunho started. “It’s like that prison you have in your world. There are people kept inside there.”
“Really?” Jaejoong asked, his eyes widening. “Why is it black then?”
“Because it’s sealed,” Yunho stated, as flat as he could, while he was laughing out loud mentally. “See, I’ll open the seal,” he said, and walked over to turn the television on.
“Whoa!” Jaejoong nearly jumped when things started showing on it. “That’s them?”
“Yes,” Yunho nodded.
That night, Jaejoong spent three hours staring at the television and wondering why those people were having so much fun inside the so-called prison.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“Hey Yunho!” Junsu greeted as he rushed towards him. “Eh? Who’s that with you?”
“Erm… ah, this is my mother’s cousin’s friend’s son, Lee Jaejoong,” Yunho said as he pulled Jaejoong closer.
“Nice to meet you,” Jaejoong bowed at him.
“Hey there! I’m Kim Junsu. Nice to meet you too!” Junsu greeted cheerfully.
Someone came running towards them afterwards, and stopped to catch his breath. “Su! I told you to wait for me!”
“It’s not my fault you’re so slow,” Junsu stuck his tongue out at him.
“Oh, anyway, hey Chun, this is my mother’s cousin’s friend’s son,” Yunho said as he motioned at Jaejoong.
“My name is Lee Jaejoong. Pleased to meet you,” Jaejoong bowed at him.
“Oh, hey. I’m Park Yoochun,” Yoochun introduced himself.
“Right. Let’s go now then. Won’t want to be late,” Yunho asked, and they all agreed.
Meanwhile, behind the trees, a figure stood, leaning on the bark as he smirked to himself. “He’s here,” he mumbled to himself in glee. “I will finally beat him.”
He was cackling when suddenly a caterpillar fell from the tree, right on his shoulder.
“Gyaaaaaah!”
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
Yunho looked at the card in his hand in wonder, and Jaejoong walked towards him, sitting on the seat beside his.
“What’s wrong?” Jaejoong asked.
“This card,” Yunho sighed. “It’s supposed to be a challenge card, but it’s pink.”
“What’s wrong with that?” Jaejoong frowned. “I like pink,” he added as he snatched the card away from Yunho’s hand, and read the contents.
Yunho looked at Jaejoong as he read, and when Jaejoong returned the card to him, he raised an eyebrow. “What do you think?”
“I can’t read that, idiot,” Jaejoong glared at him. “I can’t read hanja,” he added, huffing.
Yunho burst out laughing.
“Shut up!” Jaejoong whacked him on the head. “Are you going to read it for me or not!?”
“Okay, okay,” Yunho agreed. “Shinigami, I hereby challenge you to a duel by the Han river. Come if you’re brave enough to take on this challenge. Shim Changmin, Quincy.”
“Quincy!?” Jaejoong asked in surprise, his tone raising in pitch, but he quickly clamped his mouth shut, and looked around before he continued. “A Quincy!?”
“What’s a Quincy?” Yunho asked.
“Aish, you…” Jaejoong huffed. “Similar to Shinigamis, Quincy existed in a great number. However, they were all nearly killed off back then, and only one person survived. It was believed that only one family remains to have the Quincy blood in them. I didn’t expect I’d see one.”
“You’re not the one going there,” Yunho frowned.
“But he said Shinigami,” Jaejoong countered. “He must’ve made a mistake or something. You can’t take him on. Not with the level you are at right now.”
“Wait, continue your explanation on Quincy,” Yunho asked.
“Well, unlike Shinigami, they fight with bows,” Jaejoong explained. “Their bows are materialized, just like Shinigami’s swords. The arrows are made from their spirit energy, so they need a lot of spirit energy.”
“I see,” Yunho nodded. “Well, I’m still going.”
“No! You can’t even sankai properly!” Jaejoong shouted. “You have no chance against a talented Quincy!”
“Why are you so sure?” Yunho asked.
“Because you’re just that bad,” Jaejoong huffed.
“No, I mean, why are you so sure he’s good?” Yunho rolled his eyes.
“Oh,” Jaejoong mumbled. “Um, I figured that since he’s the last Quincy, he ought to be good.”
“Assumptions, Jae,” Yunho shook his head. “Are you coming?”
“Yes,” Jaejoong nodded almost immediately. “I need to make sure you don’t go suicidal.”
“Hey!”
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“This is the place,” Yunho sighed, and looked around.
“I told you, you can’t-“
“There you are.”
The two quickly turned around, and saw a figure walking towards them. He was tall, taller than Yunho even, and he looked stern.
“You are?” Jaejoong asked as he frowned slightly. “Shim Changmin?”
“That’s right,” Changmin nodded. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, vice-captain of the Thirteenth Division, Kim Jaejoong-shii,” he smirked. “Oh, wait, it was changed to Lee Jaejoong already, wasn’t it?”
Jaejoong frowned even deeper. “How do you-“
“I was there,” Changmin cut in. “The day the old Quincy was attacked. It was my grandfather. I was there,” he said coldly. “I called for help, but you guys didn’t come.”
“I-“
Changmin materialized his bow, and aimed it at Jaejoong. “Take out your sword,” he ordered.
Jaejoong looked at Yunho and glared. “Why didn’t you tell me it was for me!?” he demanded.
“I didn’t want to make you worry,” Yunho said, and stepped in front of Jaejoong.
“Hmph, this is not the time to be all romantic!” Changmin barked at them.
Yunho quickly reverted to his Shinigami form. “What happened back then?”
“The Quincy,” Jaejoong frowned. “The Quincy was attacked, and we were sent out to take care of the Hollows. However, the portal was sealed without our knowledge, and we couldn’t get past. Until now, we still don’t know who sealed it and why,” he explained quickly.
“Lies!” Changmin shouted at them. “You deliberately let him die so you can eliminate the Quincy!”
“What for!?” Jaejoong demanded. “There’d be no use if Quincy went extinct!”
The arrow was shot, and Yunho quickly pulled Jaejoong to the side. “This guy isn’t going to listen to you,” he gritted his teeth. “I’ll fight him.”
“No! Yunho!” Jaejoong held his arm. “Don’t!”
Suddenly, the block of wood Kibum gave him beeped.
“Hollows,” Jaejoong heaved a sigh. “They’re over at school. Let’s go back.”
“I’m not finished with you!” Changmin shouted and aimed an arrow at Jaejoong again.
“You’re no different than the one who sealed the gate,” Jaejoong said as he looked at him coldly. “You’re going to let people die for your personal want? Or so you can make more people blame me?”
Changmin’s eyes widened as he was taken aback by what he said.
“Let’s go,” Jaejoong tugged Yunho’s hand, and they quickly rushed back to the school area.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“What are these things!?” Junsu shouted when he saw the black monsters advancing on them.
“I don’t know!” Yoochun shouted back as he moved back.
“Yunho!” Jaejoong shouted, and Yunho nodded in understanding, quickly reverting to his Shinigami form, and striking down the Hollow with his large blade.
“Shit! There are more of them!” Yunho cursed as he saw more and more Hollows advancing on them.
Jaejoong looked at the two, and frowned. He sensed something from the two, but it wasn’t awakened yet. Question was, should he attempt awakening it?
“Aish, I’m already screwed anyway!” he shouted to himself, and rushed to the two. “Don’t move,” he said, and placed his hands on their shoulders, letting a rush of energy enter their bodies.
“Wha-what is that!?” Junsu nearly shrieked when he felt the tingling sensation.
Suddenly, four fairies floated around Junsu, and iron gauntlets were wrapped around Yoochun’s hands.
“As I’ve thought,” Jaejoong mumbled to himself. “You two have the ability to fight those monsters as well.”
“How do I control them?” Junsu asked, pointing at the four fairies.
“You’ll figure it by yourself!” Jaejoong said. “Don’t just stand there!”
The two evaded the Hollow’s attack, and started attacking back. Junsu ordered the fairies to attack the Hollows, and Yoochun fought with his fists.
After the last of the Hollows were struck down, the four gathered together.
“Now, how am I supposed to explain this mess?” Jaejoong sighed in defeat.
End of Chapter One
Just to clear things up, here’s an explanation on the terms used:
Sankai - calling out the sword along with the basic ability of the sword. Materializing the sword only doesn’t count as sankai (if I’m not mistaken, but if I am, then this mistaken version is true in my fic XD)
Bankai (will appear later) - calling out the sword’s advanced ability. Usually done after sealing an agreement with the sword, after rigorous training with it
Other than those two, other terms (if not in English), are the sword’s names :3 Shirayuki is the name of Jaejoong’s sword, taken from Rukia’s sword, Soden no Shirayuki :3
