“Ah, Jaejoongie, you’re awake already,” Tae In, his mother, greeted when she saw her son walking into the dining room. “Breakfast will be ready in a minute. Meanwhile, can you go wake Su-yah up?”
“Yes, Umma,” Jaejoong nodded and got up from his seat, and walked back upstairs towards the room beside his own. “Yah, Su-ie, wake up or you’re going to be late! I’ll be more than glad to tell the teacher to hold you back until sunset if you don’t wake up now!” he threatened.
“Uwah, hyung, don’t say that!” Junsu screeched in panic as he rushed around the room, and loud bangs and thuds could be heard from inside the room as he struggled to get ready. “You know I want to go home as quickly as possible and eat your cooking! Ah!”
Jaejoong winced when he heard a loud thud right in front of him, and knew instantly that Junsu had just ran into the door. “Su-ie? You okay in there?”
The door soon opened, and out came a red-faced Junsu, tears welling at the corner of his eyes because of the hurt. “Hyung~ you’re being mean again!” he accused.
“Uh… no, of course I’m not,” Jaejoong waved his hand, and helped Junsu stand up straight. “Anyway, go take a shower now. I’m not going to wait for you if you’re late.”
“Yeah, yeah, after all you can’t be late,” Junsu huffed and pouted. “Why do you have to be in the student council anyway? You could have much more free time with me if you don’t.”
Jaejoong raised an eyebrow at Junsu and shook his head. “Stop being a baby and get ready. You’re always busy with your boyfriend anyway,” he pointed out, and Junsu blushed, before he rushed into the bathroom, slamming the door behind him.
“Jaejoongie, you’re teasing your brother again?” Tae In inquired when she saw him walking back into the kitchen. “You know that boy will spend minutes trying to wash his face, right?”
“Let him,” Jaejoong shrugged, and bowed at his mother as she placed toasts and fried eggs on his plate. “I will probably be back late from school today, so you should give Junsu some money to buy food.”
“I’ll ask him about it later,” Tae In smiled at him. “You have a meeting right? Go to your school, then. I will take care of Su-yah,” she said, and kissed his forehead. “Have a nice day at school!”
“See you later!” Jaejoong greeted back as he waved at her, put on his shoes, and walked out of his house, carrying his book bag with him.
“Hyung! Good morning!” Changmin greeted when he saw Jaejoong walking out of his house’s gate, and walked up to him. “How was your sleep? Ready for the morning meeting?” he asked.
Jaejoong laughed, and waited for Changmin to walk beside him before he continued. “Well, as ready as I can be. Who’s going to present their club activity today? I really feel bad for them, though.”
“Hm, well, but their clubs don’t get that many members,” Changmin shrugged. “I just hope the board won’t close them down so easily,” he added.
Jaejoong paused briefly when his phone rang, and took it out from his pocket. “Yeoboseyo? Ah, Heechul-hyung. What is it?”
Changmin looked at him while he conversed as he walked, and soon they arrived in front of their school. “What did he say?” he inquired as soon as Jaejoong silenced his phone and put it back in his pocket.
“The morning meeting is cancelled because the board member in charge has to go to another meeting,” Jaejoong shrugged nonchalantly as he walked through the front door. “I think it’s for the better. At least those clubs he doesn’t approve of can stay longer.”
“That’s good,” Changmin nodded to himself. “Ah, I’ll see you later then, hyung.”
“Okay,” Jaejoong waved back at Changmin as he walked off to his class, and walked off to his own class. He was walking past the school kitchen where the cooking club members gather to make breakfasts for their idols, when he saw someone walking towards him from the other end of the corridor.
Someone he had set his eyes on a long time ago, but had never talked to, due to his too-self-conscious nature.
“Yo, Kim Jaejoong-shii,” Yunho greeted as he walked through the corridor, his bag slung over his shoulder. “How was the meeting? Did it go well?”
“Uh, hello, Jung Yunho-shii,” Jaejoong greeted back a little awkwardly. It was his first time talking to Yunho, although he had seen him-from far away of course-multiple times before. He was always too shy to talk to him. “The meeting was cancelled.”
“Oh?” Yunho stopped in front of Jaejoong, and held his shoulder, preventing him from walking off since Jaejoong looked like he was about to do just that. “What happened?”
“Um… I-I need to go,” he mumbled lowly and was about to walk away when a commotion started from the kitchen, and sparks of fire flew everywhere, even into the corridor.
“Watch out!” Yunho shouted and ducked as he pulled Jaejoong down with him, barely missing the sparks that hit the glass window near them.
“Ah! We’re so sorry!” the female students rushed out from the kitchen, bowing and apologizing profusely at them. “We’re sorry! We didn’t expect it would suddenly explode!”
“Ah, that’s okay,” Jaejoong waved his hand dismissively, and the girls apologized once more before they went back to the kitchen. “Ah, anyway, I have to-“
Rain clouds suddenly gather outside the school building, and a storm happened, along with the thunders and lightning.
Jaejoong gaped, blinked, and sweat-dropped at the same time.
“Ah… um…” Jaejoong sighed heavily. “The board member in charge had to attend another meeting, so it was cancelled,” he explained, and heaved in relief afterwards, when nothing else happened.
“Ah, I see,” Yunho smiled down at him, and patted his head. “Have a nice day.”
He waved goodbye and walked off to his own class, and Jaejoong watched him walk away. He touched his own hair, where Yunho had touched him, and blushed slightly at the memory.
“Aish… I don’t like him, I don’t like him,” he chanted. “He’s popular in another way. Kim Jaejoong, you can never go up to his tastes and level! I don’t like him!”
The lightning struck a tree nearby and it crashed onto the glasses behind him, pieces of glasses scattered behind him.
“Gyaah! I DO like him!” he shouted to himself and ran away, successfully gaining the attention of other students who gathered to see what the noise was about.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“Hyung~” Junsu called as he walked into Jaejoong’s room, plopping himself on Jaejoong’s bed and hugged his pillow. “How was your day? I heard you almost got hit by sparks of fire and pieces of glass?”
“Wow, rumors do spread fast,” Jaejoong commented unenthusiastically as he continued typing up a report on his laptop.
“So it’s not true?” Junsu raised an eyebrow.
“It is,” Jaejoong answered simply, saving the document. “I didn’t say it’s not.”
“Well, you implied it,” Junsu rolled his eyes, and rolled around on Jaejoong’s bed. “Oh, I also heard that Yunho-hyung saved you from the sparks. Care to elaborate?”
“No,” he stated flatly, and turned on the printer connected to his laptop, waiting for his report to get printed out. “Why must I tell you anyway?”
“Because I know you like him,” Junsu said cheerfully, and Jaejoong choked on his own saliva.
“What made you think that?” Jaejoong looked at Junsu skeptically, covering his mouth with his hand to hide his coughing. “Did I look like I like him?”
“Yes,” Junsu stated and sat up straight. “Seriously hyung, why are you constantly in denial? I know you like him. Heck, even Chunnie and Changmin know!”
“Changmin knows!?” Jaejoong almost shrieked.
“Ah, so you do like him!” Junsu pointed at him accusingly. “But yeah, they do. We talked about it once.”
“No, I don’t like him,” Jaejoong huffed, and turned his laptop and printer off after it was finished. “Now go back to your room and get some sleep. You need to wake up early tomorrow.”
“Yah, hyung, maybe those things happened because even the deities above have decided that you should stop being in denial!” Junsu laughed his unique laugh as he rolled around on Jaejoong’s bed again, clutching Jaejoong’s pillow to his chest.
“Yah! That’s ridiculous!” Jaejoong protested, and snatched his pillow back. “Now go back to your room. And I am not in denial!” he shouted as he kicked Junsu out of his room.
“That is exactly what I call being in denial!”
