Summary: Life has never been easy for one Kim Jaejoong.  He fell in love with the one who saved him from falling a year back, but only knew his name.  After he met the person, the person thought he liked his good friend instead.  Why did Lady Luck seem to hate him so much?

Disclaimer: I don’t own anything except the bizarre idea, not even the title

A/N: another LL update~ *gets shot* hopefully the next one won’t take as long.  I know I promised to update this like, since whatever, but only got the time to now.

This series is coming to an end already :3 there’s a part that should’ve been included in chapter thirteen, but because I forgot, I put it here.  Hope you don’t mind

Oh, and there’s a time skip from the last chapter to this one :3 about six months or so.

Enjoy~

Chapter Fourteen - One Last Competition

“Hyung?” Junsu called as he walked into the kitchen, still clad in his pajamas.  “Where are you going so early?” he asked as he looked at the table clock that showed six thirty.

“I have morning practice,” Jaejoong shrugged. “Well, it’s not official really.  There’s an upcoming competition, and I’ll be the only one participating.”

“Why?”

“Because Yunho has graduated, and Seven-hyung is preparing for his exams.”

“And next year?  You’re quitting the club?”

Jaejoong shook his head.  “The club will be closed down, because no one is really interested in it anyway,” he explained.  “We talked to the teachers.”

Junsu nodded thoughtfully.  “I’ll see you later then?”

“Yes.  Breakfast is on the table.  Lunches are on the counter near the sink,” Jaejoong motioned at the boxes.  “Make sure to put all dishes in the sink, and submerge them in water.”

“Okay!”

“I’m going now.  See you!”

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

“Morning Jae!” Seven greeted when he saw Jaejoong walking into the locker room.

“Ah, good morning hyung!” Jaejoong greeted back as he made his way to his locker, and took out his equipments, quickly putting his book bag inside.

“Practicing for the competition again?” Seven asked.

“Yes.  What about you?” Jaejoong asked back.

“I just need to take care of some administrative things,” Seven said as he took out folders from a special locker.  “I need to finish these before I graduate.”

“Need help?” Jaejoong offered.

“No, no, you just concentrate with your practice,” Seven waved him off.  “Plus, someone has been waiting for you.  He’s going to be your sparring partner.”

“Sparring partner?” Jaejoong frowned.  “But-“

“No buts,” Seven shook his head.  “Go and meet him.  Don’t be mean.”

“Okay,” Jaejoong agreed, and walked towards the outdoor field.

“Took you long enough.”

Jaejoong nearly dropped his bow and arrows when he heard the voice.

“Yunho!?  What are you doing here!?  Don’t you have class!?”

“Whoa, calm down,” Yunho raised his hands.  “Before you start ranting at or lecturing me, I just want to tell you that I have no morning classes today.”

“Oh.”

“Oh is right.  So, take your bow, we’re going to practice,” Yunho said and walked to the edge of the platform.  “I hope you can finally beat me.”

“Why are you hoping that?” Jaejoong asked, frowning.

“Then, your victory is a sure thing.”

Jaejoong laughed.  “Since when are you conceited?” he teased.

“I’m not,” Yunho denied.  “You were the one who told me.”

“Well,” Jaejoong started.  “I’m not interested in #1 position.”

“Then?” Yunho asked, readying his bow.

“I just want to win,” Jaejoong said.  “So you can be proud.”

Yunho fell silent, and smiled.

“I am proud of you.  Now, let’s practice.”

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

“Where are you studying after this?” Seven asked as he sat down on one of the benches in the locker room.

After the morning practice, Yunho had immediately left, saying he had to rush so that he didn’t get late for his first class that day, which was at nine thirty.

“Huh?” Jaejoong looked up at him from polishing his bow.  “Why are you asking that?”

“Are you going to the same university Yunho goes to?” he asked again.

“Hm… I want to, but probably not,” Jaejoong sighed.

“Why not?”

“Because it’s hard to get in there, and actually survive.”

“Yah, don’t degrade yourself.”

“I’m not.  Just being realistic.”

“So?  Where are you going?”

“Somewhere nearby, I guess.  I don’t like wasting my time on the way.”

Seven laughed.  “Well…”

“Yes?”

“I’m going to the States,” he said softly.  “My father wanted me to study there, and I want to fulfill his want, I guess,” he shrugged and laughed.

“That’s good, isn’t it?” Jaejoong asked.  “You’re being a good son.”

“I hope that’s true,” Seven nodded.  “So, after this, we won’t see each other a lot.”

“But try to keep in contact,” Jaejoong cut in.

“Of course,” Seven grinned.  “You or Yunho would probably the first person I’d contact once I’m over there.  You know, just to check on things.”

“What things?”

“If you have taken things to the next level.”

“Yah!”

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

“Do you want to join us for lunch?” Junsu offered as he walked over to Jaejoong’s desk and stood beside him, watching as he finished writing the report.

“Sure,” Jaejoong agreed.  “I’ve always had lunch with you guys, no?”

“Yeah… just thought I’d ask,” Junsu shrugged.

“Aish,” Jaejoong shook his head.  “Come on then.”

The two walked out of the classroom, and walked to the backyard of the school area, where many trees were.  A lot of students went there to relax.

“Hey Min, Chun,” Jaejoong greeted as he walked over to them, and sat down together.

Junsu soon followed, and they ate lunch together.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

“Are you going somewhere today?” Junsu asked as he walked beside Jaejoong to the locker area.

“No, why?” Jaejoong asked back.

“Ah, I was just about to ask you to make dinner earlier,” Junsu admitted.  “We’re going to a party later, and I don’t think there are much food there.  Decent food, at least.”

Jaejoong laughed.  “Okay.”

Junsu waved at him and rushed off to find Changmin and Yoochun, leaving Jaejoong alone as he put all his books inside his locker, and locked it.

The words at the back of his locker hadn’t come off, so he hadn’t taken off the poster yet.  Luckily none of the school officials knew of it.

He sighed, and took out his cell phone, dialing Yunho’s number.

“Yeoboseyo?”

“Yunho-yah?”

“Oh, Jae.  What happened?”

“Nothing.  Where are you right now?”

“I’m on my way.  Wait for… about five minutes.”

“Okay.”

Jaejoong walked out of the school building, and to the parking lot where Yunho usually was if he had gotten there before the bell rang.  He sat on one of the benches, and took out his iPod.

He put the earphones on his ears, and turned it on.  There was a song he had gotten a long time ago, but hadn’t gotten bored of.  Not yet anyway.

It was Yunho’s single that Junsu talked about that time.  It was in U-Know’s newest album, but it didn’t feature Yunho.  It was his single, completely his.

Jaejoong smiled as his gaze rested on the title of the song.

Jung Yunho - Birthday Song

According to Junsu, the release of U-Know’s album was delayed for about a week because of this single.  Yunho wanted it to be released on January 26, for an obvious reason.

He closed his eyes as the music started, and listened as he waited for Yunho to come.

What day is today, I wonder

A very special day for you and me

Because on this day years ago

You entered and changed my life

Let me wish you a happy birthday

Not just a greeting but a genuine wish

Hoping you’ll find happiness in this day

And not shed a single tear

Let me stay by your side today

Even when no one else is there for you

And I will make you happy by my side

Just like what I had promised

A cake, a song, and a present for you

Close your eyes, make a wish, and blow the candles

Tell me what it is and I’ll make it come true

Because, my love, your wish is my command

Let me wish you a happy birthday

Not just a greeting but a genuine wish

Hoping you’ll find happiness in this day

And not shed a single tear

Let me stay by your side today

Even when no one else is there for you

And I will make you happy by my side

Just like what I had promised

Yet another year has passed but you’re still the same you

My love grew with you and that much is true

Let me wish you a happy birthday

Not just a greeting but a genuine wish

Hoping you’ll find happiness in this day

And not shed a single tear

Let me stay by your side today

Even when no one else is there for you

And I will make you happy by my side

Just like what I had promised

He smiled as the song came to an end.  Yunho was never really a subtle person.

He looked at his watch, and frowned.  It was past five minutes, and Yunho hadn’t arrived yet.

“Maybe he got caught in a traffic jam?” he asked himself as he put away his iPod in his book bag.

He was about to call Yunho again, but was interrupted when his mother called.

“Mother?  I wonder if something is wrong,” he thought to himself.

“Yeoboseyo?”

“Jae?”

“Yes it’s me.”

“This is bad!”

“What?  What is it?”

“Yunho’s car was hit by a sleepy truck driver.  He’s now in the hospital!”

End of Chapter Fourteen

Ah, finally~ I’m so tired.  After this, two more chapters left, and then an epilogue :DDD

The last three chapters wouldn’t be so humorous, but nothing would end badly, I promise *crosses fingers*

Thank you for reading and following this series so far :DDD I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
