A/N: a beautiful song about friendship.  I fell in love with the lyrics after I properly listened to this song.  I love Unfaithful’s lyric too, and that’s why I’m planning a songfic for Unfaithful.  Hope you enjoy this.

I’m working on Lovely Lover and fighting to stay awake as I browse through earlier posts in Jaeho_DEtox… -_-;;; this is an apology for not updating BoS today.  Hopefully I can get it up in a few days ^-^;;;  I’ll include bits of the next series I’ll be working on at the end.

Lyrics will be bolded, flashbacks will be italicized and the emphasis and thoughts will be the opposite of the scene.  If it’s a flashback, then they will be regular.  If it’s regular, then it’ll be italics.

I’ll Always Be Your Friend

You have my heart

“Are you alright?  You look lost,” a gentle voice said as the rain around him stopped pouring while the raindrops that hit the pavement beside him splashed at him lightly.

He looked up and saw a young boy holding an umbrella over the two of them, staring down at him with a pair of large doe eyes that shone with curiosity as he stared at them with his almost-lifeless eyes.

“Hey, why are you out here?” the boy asked again, looking around and noticing that the street was deserted and no one really passed here except if they were taking a shortcut like what he did.

“I… don’t have anywhere to go,” he mumbled lowly, staring at the ground with rapt attention.

“Then come with me,” the boy said and he looked up at him in disbelief.  Was he just offering his place to a complete stranger?

“Why?” he asked uncertainly, tilting his head slightly.

“No one stays with me, so it’ll be okay,” the boy said excitedly.  “Plus, it’s been so long since someone comes to my apartment.  At least stay until the rain stops.”

A soft smile started to spread on his face and he got up with the help of the boy.  “Thank you.”

And we’ll never be worlds apart

“I’m home, Boo!”

“Welcome home, Yunho-ah,” Jaejoong smiled slightly as he saw his long time roommate return to their shared apartment together.  Ever since the incident in the rain, they had stayed in Jaejoong’s apartment together.

“How was your day at work?” Jaejoong asked, peeking from the kitchen while still holding a ladle in his right hand, raising it to Yunho’s lips to let him taste the soup on it.

“Fine day at work.  None messed up during shoots so I can get home early,” Yunho announced tiredly as he plopped down on top of the couch and sighed.  “The soup’s a little salty,” he added as an afterthought.

“It’s not salty.  You’re the one who can’t stand salt,” Jaejoong pointed out with a grin.

At first, Jaejoong was the one who paid for the rent of the apartment.  Lately, ever since Yunho was asked to be a model in a huge entertainment company, Yunho was the one who paid for it.

Yunho grinned back at him.  “Of course.  You know me too well.”

Jaejoong shook his head and let an amused smile dance across his lips before he returned to the kitchen and took care of the “too salty” soup.  He was glad that even though Yunho was famous now he didn’t leave him.

Maybe in magazines

Jaejoong laughed bitterly when they were organizing their photo albums.  Most of Jaejoong’s pictures were taken by Yunho with their beloved camera while Yunho’s were the ones Jaejoong took in return or clips from magazines he featured, which explained the words scrawled all across the pictures.  Sometimes it made him feel like he didn’t deserve to be in the same place with someone as famous as Yunho.

“Aish, why are there so few pictures of me that you took, Jaejoong-ah?” Yunho protested as he hugged Jaejoong from behind, peering at the albums over his shoulder.  “Am I that ugly, or are you just too lazy?”

Jaejoong laughed at that.  “No.  I’m just too much of a camwhore and you’re my loyal photographer.”

But you’ll still be my star

“You told me you like stars didn’t you?  This is your very belated birthday present, Jaejoong-ah,” Yunho announced when they finally reached the clearing he had talked about earlier.

It was a green field atop a cliff that wasn’t so high from a river.  There were no trees around it and the sky could be seen clearly from there.

“That’s the Summer Triangle,” Yunho pointed out.  “Once every year, Orihime will be reunited with Kengyu.  Do you believe in such a thing?”

“Why not?” Jaejoong asked as he followed Yunho and lied beside him on the mat Yunho had brought with them.  “I think it’s romantic.”

“I think so too,” Yunho mumbled as he let Jaejoong lie half-sprawled across him.

“Hey, look, there’s a very bright star out there,” Jaejoong pointed out when he noticed a bright star out of the constellation.

“Oh, I found it a week ago,” Yunho answered easily.  “That’s you,” he added with a smile.

“Why is it me?” Jaejoong asked, frowning in confusion.

“Because that’s my star.”

Baby cause in the dark you can’t see shiny cars

“Ah, I feel so out of place here!” Jaejoong announced as he pouted and glared at Yunho who had dragged him out to a gathering party for the top models.

“Ssh, don’t say things like that,” Yunho flicked Jaejoong’s forehead.  “You belong here, beside me.  Don’t ever say such ridiculous thing again.”

Jaejoong looked around in nervousness and felt himself fidget.  Yunho’s hand shot out towards his and held it tightly, as if reassuring him that everything was alright.

“Everyone’s… so rich,” Jaejoong mumbled as he watched people passing by, all dressed in suits, dresses, and wearing jewelries.  The cars parked out front were fancy, all sleek and metallic in color.

Of course, he was dressed decently as well, because Yunho had bought the clothes for him especially for this event.  That was exactly why he couldn’t refuse to go.  Yunho was hoping he’d come so much that he didn’t find it in his heart to deny him this one request.

Suddenly the lights went out and everything turned pitch black.  Jaejoong was thankful he was holding Yunho’s hand, or he’d be thrown into a panic attack like the other guests who were now shouting and screaming, demanding that the generator be turned on quickly.

He could feel Yunho’s hand shake slightly, but before he could ask if Yunho was scared of the dark, he heard a deep rumbling from Yunho’s direction that sounded a little like muffled laughter.

“Yunho-ah?  What’s wrong?  Have you gone crazy because of your fear?” Jaejoong asked, feeling slightly worried about his friend’s nearly non-existent sanity.

Yunho pulled Jaejoong closer to him in response and grinned slightly though he knew the other wouldn’t be able to see it.  “Can you still se their dresses and suits, Jaejoong-ah?”

“Um, no?” Jaejoong answered uncertainly.

“Can you still see their cars?”

“No.”

“Can you feel me here?”

“Yes.”

“Then you belong here.  You can’t see expensive things in the dark, but you know you’re here with me.  So never feel like you don’t belong.”

Jaejoong smiled at Yunho’s overly sappy line.  “You’re being mushy, Yunho-ah.”

“But you like me for that.”

“And overly confident to boot.”

He was only answered with laughter.

And that’s when you need me there

“Boo?  What are you doing still awake?” Yunho asked in surprise when he entered their apartment and saw Jaejoong sitting on the couch, huddled and covered with a blanket.

“Are you alright, Yunho-ah?  The storm outside is pretty bad,” Jaejoong inquired as he looked up from his seat, holding a cup of hot chocolate close to himself.  “I was going to tell you to stay there, but the phone wouldn’t work.”

Yunho smiled slightly.  “Thanks for worrying about me,” he said as he took off his shoes, suit, and tie.  He then walked over and sat beside Jaejoong.

“Here,” Jaejoong said, offering the cup to Yunho who accepted it gratefully.  “I know you’re probably not cold on the way here, but have some anyway.”

Yunho grinned and thanked him.  “Ah, what would I do without you?” he sighed happily as he leaned back and sipped the chocolate.  “This is very nice.”

“You’ll die out in the streets,” Jaejoong joked as he punched Yunho’s arm slightly, nearly making him spill the chocolate.

“Aw, don’t say it like that,” Yunho whined, leaning towards Jaejoong and grinned.  “You’ll be lonely without me too, won’t you?”

Jaejoong laughed and leaned towards Yunho too.  “Fine.  I admit I need you here too.  Happy?”

A grin.

“Very.”

With you I’ll always share

“Oi, Yunho, a few gifts from your fans came this morning,” Jaejoong called out when he heard the sound of the front door being closed.  Only Yunho would be able to enter whenever he wanted to.

“Oh, where are they?” Yunho asked as he took off his shoes and walked towards the kitchen.

“I put them on your bed.  Have a look through them,” Jaejoong answered as he stirred the soup and added some pepper.  “There’s a new set of clothes among them.  Do you want it?”

“You want it?” Yunho asked back.

“No, I was just asking,” Jaejoong shook his head, turning the stove off and picking up the pot with his mittens.

“If you want them, just say so.  You know I don’t mind sharing things with you.”

Because when the sun shines we’ll shine together

“Have you ever watched sun rise, Jaejoong-ah?” Yunho asked randomly when they were lying awake on their bed, staring at each other, one with wonder and the other in question.

“What’s up your sleeve this time?” Jaejoong asked suspiciously.  Whenever Yunho asked something like that, he usually had something planned.

“I’m just asking,” Yunho pouted.

Jaejoong laughed and pinched Yunho’s cheeks.  “Stop making that face.  You look like the puppy I used to have,” he remarked idly.  “No I’ve never watched sun rise.  Have you?”

“Ah, don’t compare me to a puppy!” Yunho protested.  “I’m always better looking than a dog!”

If he wasn’t lying on the bed, Jaejoong was sure he’d fall down to the floor.

“Then let’s watch it together, shall we?” Yunho asked with a grin.

“Don’t you have work to do?” Jaejoong asked.  He knew Yunho was busy lately since a lot of companies asked him to model their products and all.

“Yes, but I can make the time.  They’re not having a photo shoot when the sun has just risen, after all,” Yunho’s grin was still plastered on his face as he ruffled his hair.  “Because whenever I watch the sun rise, I watch you shine with it.”

“From the window?” Jaejoong asked.

“Yes, sunlight from the window.  You’re beautiful when it happens,” Yunho chuckled.  If he shone when it was day time because of his job, then Jaejoong shone when the sun had just risen.

Told you I’ll be here forever

“Yunho-ah, do you want to go to the coffee shop down the streets?” Jaejoong asked as he watched Yunho walk into the living room groggily, rubbing the sleep off his eyes.

“What time?” Yunho asked, looking around with half-closed eyes before he finally spotted a blur that looked like Jaejoong and stared at the spot.

“This evening.  About five o’clock,” Jaejoong answered as he placed a plate of pancakes on the dining table and poured maple syrup over them.

“I’ll be there,” Yunho nodded as he pulled a chair and sat on it.  “I’ll go wherever you want to and you know that, you don’t need to ask.”

Jaejoong smiled slightly, remembering what Yunho said months ago.

“I’ll always be by your side.”

Said I’ll always be your friend

Jaejoong was watching a TV interview that featured Yunho, as requested by Yunho himself.  He was never interested in this kind of shows, but he wanted to know how Yunho dealt with the reporters.

It was an ordinary interview with the host asking things like the date of his next photo book release, the products he’d be modeling, the partners he’d model with, and such.

And then it came to personal questions.

“We heard that you never really hang out with your partners after work.  Why is that, Yunho-shii?” the host asked.

“Oh, that’s because I already have a special friend waiting for me at home,” Yunho answered with a grin.  “Hey, Jae, if you’re watching this show-which you better do since I told you to-remember that I’ll always be your friend, because you’re special.  Now, I have two hours before I go back.  Can you make me my favorite dinner?”

And everyone on the set burst into laughter.

Jaejoong looked at him almost disbelievingly, but then smiled softly and went to work, listening to the soft voice of Yunho that was broadcasted through the TV.

Took an oath I’ma stick it out till the end

“Thank you for the present, Yunho.  It’s beautiful,” Jaejoong said as he admired the crystal bracelet he had set his eyes on two weeks ago.

“You know I’m a man of words,” Yunho grinned at him almost idiotically.  “When I promise something, I’ll always keep it.”

“True, true,” Jaejoong nodded as he remembered that Yunho had always done whatever he promised to do without fail.  “Is that why you stayed here even after you got famous?”

“Oh, if I left, I’ll be a very ungrateful bastard,” Yunho shook his head.

“Nah, I’m sure you were born legally,” Jaejoong replied and Yunho burst into laughter.

“Plus, when I first came here, I promised that I’d always stay with you because you seem so lonely,” Yunho added, smirking slightly at the older boy.

“Well, sorry for seeming so lonely,” Jaejoong huffed and crossed his arms in front of his chest.

“Or would you rather I leave?” Yunho asked, smiling at him.

“You said you always keep your promise,” Jaejoong pointed out.

“Yes.  Even if you said yes, I wouldn’t have left anyway.”

“Then why did you even bother to ask?”

“To see if the feeling is mutual,” accompanied with an idiotic grin.

Now that it’s raining more than ever

Jaejoong looked up at the sky and shielded his eyes from the oncoming raindrops.  It was raining hard that time, yet he didn’t mind.  He was currently sitting on the same spot where he found Yunho a year ago.

Looking at his watch, he noticed it was already six o’clock, and then he sighed heavily.

He felt a little disappointed when he noticed that Yunho was missing at lunch time.  He then knew that Yunho had to go for a photo shoot that day.

Would he come to the coffee shop?

Jaejoong shook his head, letting his bangs fall across his face and obscuring his view.

He’d be too busy to remember.

And the rain kept pouring onto him, drenching him from head to toe.

Know that we’ll still have each other

“Jaejoong?  What’s wrong?” Yunho asked as he entered their shared bedroom and sat beside Jaejoong who was lying atop the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.

“Nothing.  I’m just thinking,” Jaejoong shook his head.  “My friend’s girlfriend broke up with him yesterday and he’s being depressed right now.  Is being in a relationship that bad?”

Yunho shook his head.  “Not if you chose the right person.  Then everything will be okay.”

Jaejoong smiled slightly.  “Have you ever been in a relationship before, Yunho-ah?”

Yunho shook his head again.  “What for?  I have you already,” he answered with a grin.

“Then I don’t need one too, since I already have you.”

You can stand under my umbrella

The rain around him suddenly stopped and he sensed something like a déjà vu, only it was reversed this time.  He opened his eyes and saw a pair of legs in front of him.

He looked up and was greeted by the sight of a pair of eyes looking down at him with confusion, sadness, and anger mixed within.

“Why are you out here?  Weren’t you the one who wanted to go to that darn coffee shop?” Yunho demanded, glaring slightly at Jaejoong who looked down at the ground near his feet.  “And why didn’t you answer my calls?  I was looking for you everywhere!”

Jaejoong’s mind reeled and he quickly thought up of an excuse.  “I-”

“Don’t even think of saying you were there waiting for me then I didn’t show up!” Yunho snapped, kneeling in front of the older boy and stared straight at his eyes.  “I’ve been waiting there since four forty five, Jae.”

Jaejoong suddenly felt ashamed of himself.  Only because Yunho had work to do that day didn’t mean he’d have to do it all day.  Plus, he’d never broken his promise before.  Why would this time be any different?

“I’m sorry,” Jaejoong mumbled softly as he hugged Yunho.  “I’m sorry,” he repeated, feeling the need to get the message across.  To convince Yunho that he really was sorry.

“I know you are,” Yunho replied softly, smiling as he hugged Jaejoong back, carefully balancing the umbrella so it could cover the two of them.  “Just don’t do it again next time.  You scared the crap out of me.”

”Yes.  I’ll be sure to remember that.”

You can stand under my umbrella

“You’ve let me stand under your umbrella.  Now, stand with me under my umbrella.”

You Can Stand Under My Umbrella

Finished.  Hope you’d enjoy.  The first rain and umbrella scene was taken from “No Money” or “Okane ga Nai”, where Ayase helped the other.  Credits to the comic.

I noticed that there are mostly JaeChun friendship fic, so here I am with a JaeHo friendship fic XDD

And the bits from Lovely Lover (prologue and chapter 1):

“Jaejoong?  I didn’t know you go to this school.”

“Eh?  Do I know you?”

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

“I’m preparing breakfast much earlier.  You can reheat it if you want to eat it later with the other kids,” Jaejoong said.

“They’re not going to appreciate that comment,” Junsu grinned.

“Oh?  Did they think I appreciate the umma comment, then?”

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

“And he compared me to Yunho!  Again!” Jaejoong whined as he flailed his chopsticks around.

“But Yunho’s the best in the club!” Junsu replied, frowning slightly.  “Or would you like to be compared to those girls?”

“I don’t want to be compared!”

“Could’ve fooled me.”

I guess those are enough.  I’m still working on it, and I’ll probably wait until BoS is finished before really starting on it, because I can’t update it as frequently.  Hope you like this story ^__________^ (I’m talking about Umbrella XD)
