Epilogue
Jaejoong lay on his stomach on his bed, a black book in front of him, and a silver pen grasped in his right hand. He opened the book to the page where he last wrote in, and started writing a new entry. His last entry.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“Good morning Jae!” Seulgi greeted cheerfully as she waved at him when she saw him walking into their class. “How was your day yesterday?”
Jaejoong looked at him, and sighed. “You got me there. Why didn’t you tell me you told him?”
“Because you’d flip if I did,” Seulgi shrugged. “And where’s the fun in it?”
“I don’t need fun!” Jaejoong complained.
“Aw, but all’s well that ends well, right?” Seulgi giggled, and patted his shoulder. “Congratulations on getting yourself a boyfriend! He is your first, no?”
“Why are you the one who sounds so happy?” Jaejoong mused.
“Aren’t you happy?”
“Of course I am,” Jaejoong said quickly. “But… I thought you liked him…”
Seulgi laughed. “No, I did and do not,” she shook her head. “It was all to trick you, Jae. I know you like him and he likes you, so I decided to get you two together.”
“Why?”
“Because…” Seulgi smiled a little. “You’re an important friend.”
“I-“
“And also because I know Yunho-shii likes you not just because of your looks,” Seulgi added. “If he does, then he doesn’t deserve you, Jae.”
Jaejoong blinked.
“Yep,” Seulgi nodded, grinning widely. “That was your line!”
Jaejoong looked at her blankly, and then burst out laughing. “I didn’t know you still remember it!”
“Of course I do!” Seulgi protested. “That was the first time we officially met, and the day you taught me something.”
“Yeah…” Jaejoong nodded, remembering what happened on that day.
-.-.-.-.-. flashback -.-.-.-.-.
A young girl stood near the railing of the bridge, looking down at the strong current of the river. Tears were falling from her eyes as she gripped the fence.
“I’m so stupid,” she said to herself. She then hoisted herself up ad over the railing, jumping down into the river.
“Don’t!”
The girl looked up when she felt her hand being tugged. A boy around her age stood there, holding onto her hand and not letting go.
“I know what happened,” the boy said before she had the chance to ask who he was. “You shouldn’t do this just because of that idiot jerk.”
She looked at him strangely.
“He dated you just because of your looks. Now that he thinks you’re not as beautiful as that time, he dumped you. That jerk doesn’t deserve you. Someone who likes you only because of your looks doesn’t deserve you.”
“Who are you?”
The boy smiled. “I guess you wouldn’t know me,” he said. “You’re popular. I’m almost invisible.”
“I-“
“Take my hand,” he said, offering his other hand. “I’ll get you up.”
The girl looked at him, and took a deep breath. Slowly, she reached up and held his hand.
A few minutes later, the two were standing on the bridge together.
“So… who are you?” the girl asked. “I’m-“
“Bae Seulgi-shii, I know,” the boy said with a smile. “I’m Kim Jaejoong.”
“Kim Jaejoong,” Seulgi nodded. “You’re in my class?”
“Yes,” Jaejoong confirmed. “Oh, I almost forgot. I need to go now. See you at school!” he excused himself and dashed off.
Seulgi laughed a little as she watched him. “Yeah… see you at school.”
-.-.-.-.-. end of flashback -.-.-.-.-.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
Jaejoong smiled in satisfaction and closed his journal, putting it back in his drawer. Ever since that day, he had become good friends with Seulgi.
Yunho walked into the room, and saw him sitting on the bed. “Hey, the others asked if you want to go meet them at the mall today,” he said.
“Are you going?” Jaejoong asked.
“Of course,” Yunho nodded.
“Okay,” Jaejoong got up from the bed and walked over. “Let’s go then.”
Yunho laughed. “It’s not like you’re going to stay here if I do anyway.”
“You know me too well,” Jaejoong grinned at him, and walked out behind Yunho.
He was happy he had such good friends. Ones who would do absolutely anything to make him happy, remembering how they even had to trick him a few times.
Jaejoong fell silent, and held Yunho’s hand in his, smiling a little.
“Something wrong?”
“No, not at all.”
But now, as he walked out of his apartment building hand-in-hand with his lover, all he could do was thank them.
