Rising Star - Answer
-.-.-.-.-. flashback -.-.-.-.-.
“Kim Hee Soo-shii?” Yunho asked a little uncertainly. It was written on his name plate, but Yunho thought it was a little rude if he didn’t ask first.
“Yes?” Hee Soo asked back.
“I heard you’re here for the main exhibit today, Blood Pledge,” Yunho started.
“Ah, that necklace,” Hee Soo nodded. “Yes, I am here for it. It’s pretty isn’t it? I’m sure you can give it to your boyfriend.”
“It is,” Yunho agreed. “But I don’t think my boyfriend likes it. He doesn’t like jewelries.”
“He doesn’t?” Hee Soo lifted an eyebrow. “I saw him wearing earrings.”
Yunho laughed. “Well, that’s because they were given by me,” he shrugged.
“I see,” Hee Soo nodded in understanding. “Well, I have to go now. It was nice talking to you.”
“Same goes to you. Thank you for your time.”
-.-.-.-.-. end of flashback -.-.-.-.-.
“Ew,” Jaejoong pulled a face. “When did he see me? And how did he know I wear earrings?” his nose was scrunched up in distaste as Yunho retold the story.
“Don’t ask me,” Yunho shrugged. “But that was what happened,” he added.
“Mmh… why’s Min taking so long? I’m hungry,” Jaejoong pouted as he moved closer to Yunho and hugged him. “Hey, what do you think about Ki Hae-shii?”
“I don’t know,” Yunho sighed. “He looked nice… but I’m not so sure. I mean, I’m sure he only has good intentions, but…”
“You’re still thinking about your father, aren’t you?” Jaejoong asked, smiling softly at him. “I’m sorry.”
“Correction, our father Boo,” Yunho shook his head, and buried his face in the crook of Jaejoong’s neck. “And don’t be. You weren’t there. You couldn’t have done anything.”
“That makes me feel worse, jerk,” Jaejoong glared at Yunho as he punched his upper arm hard.
Yunho laughed, and hugged Jaejoong tighter. “So then, you shouldn’t make him worry anymore.”
“I try,” Jaejoong shrugged.
“And let me do my job,” Yunho added, and leaned in to kiss him.
“Ahem,” someone interrupted them, and they shot up, only to come face-to-face with Changmin. “Glad to know you’re enjoying your time, even while you’re in here,” he said, his left eye twitching.
“Ah, hello Minnie,” Jaejoong smiled brightly as he hugged Changmin and patted his back. “Thank you for… uh… helping us,” he shrugged and looked out, where many police were walking back and forth, arresting Kim Hee Soo and In Saneul.
“Hello to you too, hyung,” Changmin beamed at Jaejoong. “And no hello to you,” he sulked at Yunho. “And here I thought you were going to have my head for letting Jaejoong-hyung wander alone.”
Yunho laughed. “Well… as long as you caught him. Good thing you did.”
“Of course,” Changmin grinned at him. “I’m not going to be a follower forever.”
“So, how did you know?” Jaejoong inquired curiously.
“Simple… I just thought it’s strange that Hee Soo-shii seemed closest to Saneul-shii, and that he saw you two bumping with each other,” Changmin explained. “And he also recognized me as Yunho-hyung’s friend, while the others didn’t. Plus, he also know we’re investigators.”
“That suspect is being too careless,” Jaejoong sighed.
“I agree,” Yunho added. “Remember what I told you about the earrings?”
“Earrings?” Changmin lifted an eyebrow as Jaejoong pulled a face.
“Ew, don’t remind me of that! It sounded so sick!”
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
The three gathered in the main exhibition room after it was finished, and stood in front of Ki Hae, reporting the day’s happenings to him since he had just come.
“I see. So it was Hee Soo who was planning to steal it,” Ki Hae nodded his head thoughtfully. “It’s a good thing I hired you guys,” he added with a hearty laugh.
“Thank you,” the three bowed simultaneously, and Ki Hae looked at them amusedly.
“Ah… you guys even act similar,” he commented with a small smile. “Very well then. As I have promised, I want you to have the Rising Star,” he said, taking the necklace out and handing it over to Jaejoong. “The payment should arrive in your account in about two days.”
“You shouldn’t,” Yunho shook his head. “Rising Star is enough for us. Much more than enough, in fact.”
“But I want him to have it,” Ki Hae insisted. “It won’t be fair to only give him something, right?”
“No, actually,” Yunho shrugged. “But if you insist, we can only thank you.”
Ki Hae laughed again. “Don’t be so formal around me,” he waved his hand dismissively. “Jaejoong-shii here looks like my daughter. And you look like her husband. I’m glad we can meet, actually.”
“Oh?” Yunho raised an eyebrow. “Must be a coincidence.”
“So it is,” Ki Hae laughed again, and nodded at them. “Well then, I’ll be on my way. Thank you for protecting Blood Pledge for me,” he excused himself.
The three were left alone, and Yunho quickly turned to look at Jaejoong.
“What?” Jaejoong looked at him suspiciously.
“He said you look like his daughter, and I look like her husband,” Yunho replied.
“I can hear that. I’m not deaf,” Jaejoong frowned.
“Aish, you’re no fun,” Yunho shook his head. “What I wanted to say was…” he paused, and a naughty grin crossed his features. “Do you want to go and do something that husband and wife do?”
That night, Yunho was forced to room with Changmin. And tomorrow night, and the night after as well.
