Chapter Eight - Suspicion
After the corpse was found, everyone was directed to go out of the attic while Yunho, Yuhan and Changmin lowered it onto the floor and inspected it.
Changmin predicted that the cause of death was loss of blood because his gut was sliced open, and that he was already hung on the web before he died. The suspected time of death was after they gathered in the music room after the Moonlight Sonata played, and before any of them woke up.
The three moved the corpse to a store room and covered it with white canvas cloth they found there. Somehow, there was a pile of white canvas cloths there, as if the one who invited them there had planned to use them for this purpose. Then, they cleaned up the blood.
Jaejoong had insisted that he wanted to help them clean the blood, but the three had disagreed and told him to focus on lunch with the help of Junsu and Yoochun instead.
They finished cleaning the blood, and went down to the dining room.
“I know you’re the killer.”
That wasn’t the greeting they expect. Yuhan looked at Hojun who was sitting on her seat, inspecting her nails as if she hadn’t accused someone of killing.
“Who else has a grudge against him? I mean, you probably brought him here to kill him so he couldn’t sue you again,” Hojun added as she rested her hand on the table.
“I agree. We lost the last trial, but we nearly won,” Yongchui commented, frowning a little.
“But that’s not possible!” Junsu exclaimed as he stood up from his seat, glaring at her. “I was with him the whole time!”
“But you weren’t with him when he went out,” Hojun added. “I heard the story about last night.”
“He was with me,” Yunho cut in before she could say anything else. “I went out of my room before he did, and we met as he was exiting.”
Hojun looked at him, displeasure clear on her face as she frowned, and looked back down at her nails, falling silent as her argument was shot down.
“And you stayed back with him, so you have better chances,” Yunho added.
“Are you accusing me?” Hojun asked, glaring at him.
“If you call what you did to Jaejoong not accusing, then no, I am not,” Yunho smirked as he walked over to his own seat and sat down, looking at Jaejoong and smiling as he accepted the offered plate of food.
“Thank you,” Jaejoong mumbled softly as he gave him the plate, and walked over to give Yoochun and Changmin their plates.
“I’m not going to eat,” Yongchui said firmly as he huffed and crossed his arms in front of his chest. “Who knows if you’re trying to poison us.”
“You--!”
“Yuhan!” Jaejoong reprimanded as he shouted and held Yuhan back. “Don’t,” he shook his head, and Yuhan looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
“Fine,” Yuhan huffed and walked to his seat.
Jaejoong looked at him and smiled apologetically.
“I don’t want to as well,” Hojun added, still inspecting her nail, as if looking for the tiniest crack.
“Me too,” Changsun butted in.
Changmin looked at Jaejoong who had a dejected look on his face. He knew how Jaejoong liked to cook, and how happy he was if his cooking was appreciated.
“Then I’ll eat them!” he shouted suddenly, and the others looked at him. “If they don’t want to, then I’ll eat them.”
Jaejoong looked surprised as well, but he quickly smiled. “Thank you Minnie-ah,” he said and walked over to give the plates of food to Changmin.
“You’re welcome! Your cooking is always great anyway!” Changmin beamed, and started eating.
Yuhan smiled a little at it, and started eating as well, asking Jaejoong to sit down and eat beside him. “Don’t mind them,” he said, holding Jaejoong’s hand. “You have us.”
End of Chapter Eight
This one is very, very short, again, like chapter… I forgot XDD sorry for that, but the main point of this chapter is only the accusation. I wrote this in a hurry since I forgot about it, and then my friend came so I couldn’t work properly on this. I’m very sorry. I’ll try to write longer chapter for the next one :3
