A/N: I think (really, I do think), my randomness is really getting worse. This is my rant, so feel free to skip it.
At first, the Jae-forbidding-Yunho-from-drinking-coffee part was totally random, but since someone asked why, I made the story behind it, and why Yunho loved his coffee. Then, the kidnapping twelve years ago was only for fun since I wanted something that Yunho could tease Jae about, but it turned out to be another case.
Then, I mentioned that Yunho took five years before Jae’d trust him. I realized afterwards, while reading you guys’ comments, that it’s exactly the time when he joined the HGP team -_-;;; are these really coincidences, or is my brain thinking ahead of myself? *gets whacked*
So, if I make a reference to an early case later on, don’t be surprised XDD
I’m wondering if someone is willing to make me a banner for this universe. I’ll make it myself, but I’m not in the mood right now -_-;;; plus, there’re still two banners I have to make.
Oh, and it’s raining very hard right now ß very out of topic, and I fell asleep so I lost my time in writing, that was why this came out late. I’m sorry

Fight for Inheritance
“Hey,” Changmin called as he walked into the living room of their apartment carrying a few hangers with clothes covered with black leather cover. “Remember Rina-shii? The one who asked us to attend her engagement party tonight?” he asked, standing behind Yoochun and Junsu.
”Yes, but why are you standing behind us?” Yoochun asked, looking up to look at Changmin, and Junsu looked back.
“I don’t know, I just like standing here,” Changmin shrugged. “Anyway, here are the clothes she said she’d provide us. She’s really the daughter of a rich family.”
“It’s not like she gives clothes to everyone who attends the party. She just gives them to us since we’re not in the list of invites originally,” Yunho shook his head and took a sip of his strawberry juice. He didn’t know why, but Jaejoong suddenly had an affinity for fruit juices, and they were scheduled to drink strawberry juice every Tuesday-Wednesday was watermelon, Thursday was apple, Friday was orange, and Saturday was melon.
“Let me see,” Jaejoong said as he stood up and walked over to Changmin and inspected the five hangers. He took the one with his name labeled on it, and lifted the cover before he shrieked in surprise.
“What is it?” Yunho asked as he rushed towards Jaejoong. “Is there a spider inside?”
“Why is mine a dress!?” Jaejoong demanded, pointing at his clothes and glared. “Who gave her the information?” he added.
“I did,” Changmin said calmly. “Actually, I sent her our close-up pictures and measurements… maybe I should’ve sent a full-body picture instead,” he shrugged.
“I’m not wearing it,” Jaejoong glared at the soft pink sundress, willing it to suddenly catch fire. “I’m borrowing your other suit,” he added, looking at Yunho.
“No you can’t,” Yunho shook his head. “It’s old and dusty now, and I haven’t brought it to the laundry yet,” he explained. “And I believe the other boys’ suits are in the same condition too.”
The other three quickly nodded their heads in agreement.
“Psh, fine, I’m not going then,” Jaejoong crossed his arms in front of his chest.
“I didn’t know you’re such a selfish person, Boo,” Yunho commented, shaking his head as he placed a hand on Jaejoong’s shoulder. “You refuse to go to a lady’s engagement party even after she personally asked you to come, just because of the clothes?”
Jaejoong looked at him and glared. “Damn you Jung,” he muttered, but took the dress and went to his room.
“I can’t believe Jae-hyung fell for that,” Changmin commented, now looking at his own suit-a silver one.
“Oh, he always falls for it if it’s about others,” Yunho grinned widely.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
Yunho walked into his room wearing the suit sent to him earlier that day. It was a black suit with silver linings at the collar, and it fit him perfectly.
“You look good,” Jaejoong commented as he stood in front of a full-length mirror in their room, looking at Yunho’s reflection. “She has a good taste.”
“What about the dress?” Yunho asked teasingly, walking up behind Jaejoong to hug him loosely around the waist.
“I hate it,” Jaejoong sighed as he leaned back. “See, my shoulders are a bit too broad. Plus, my chest is flat… it looks strange,”
Yunho chuckled and rested his chin on Jaejoong’s shoulder. “You look nice to me,” he said, rubbing his chin on Jaejoong’s shoulder a little. “It’s not like the dress is that revealing anyway.”
“Shut up you,” Jaejoong grunted. “It’s not like you are the one wearing the dress,” he said as he turned around and kissed Yunho softly. “Next time, I will be the one taking care of these things.”
“Then tell Min that, don’t tell me,” Yunho grinned. “And you know you fit the dress better than I do.”
A few seconds later, Jaejoong left the room with a triumphant smile while Yunho’s agonizing cries of pain were heard from inside the shared bedroom.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“Woah, really a residence for a rich man!” Yoochun commented as he looked up at the huge mansion in front of him. He shielded his eyes from the glaring sunlight with his hand, and looked around in awe. “They even have a private park!”
“It’s a private garden, Chunnie,” Junsu corrected, though he was looking around in awe as well.
“Yeah, I know, but it’s the size of a park!” Yoochun replied.
“The size of a Park,” Changmin mumbled quietly, and Jaejoong snorted in laughter.
“Welcome,” a maid greeted them as the front door was opened for them. “I believe you are the guests Rina-shii invited. I will show you to your rooms. Please follow me,” she said, and walked into the house, followed by the five.
They walked through a corridor with ceramic tiles, pastel-colored wallpapers, and various portraits of the members of the family hanging on the sides of the hallway. They were shown to their rooms, on the second floor of the west wing, and after putting their bags inside, they were shown to the ballroom, where the party would be held.
“Ah, hello,” a young woman greeted as soon as she saw the five walking inside with the maid. “I believe you are Mr. Jung and the colleagues. I am Sun Rina, the one who sent you the request letter, nice to meet you,” she said, bowing a little at Yunho.
A man saw them and walked over to them. “So you are the ones Rina asked to come. My name is Ji Yun Sung, Rina’s fiancé. I was told by a maid that Rina’s tea yesterday was poisoned-a cat died after it drank the tea that splashed onto the floor because she was being careless. That was why we called you here,” he explained.
“I see, who are the suspects?” Yunho asked, looking at Rina. “Do you know anyone who might want you gone?”
“Um, I’m not sure, but my father’s will is going to be read tonight. He is retiring, and he’s giving the company to me and Yun Sung,” Rina answered a little uneasily. “I don’t think Jin Young would kill me to become the heir of the company, though,” she added, glancing at the group of four people who were inside the room as well.
“Jin Young?” Changmin asked.
“Yes, Sun Jin Young. He’s my little brother. Everyone thought he’s going to inherit the company, but my father gave it to me,” Rina said thoughtfully, rubbing her chin with her index finger. “Then there’s Aunt Ji Kyung. I don’t think she’s going to benefit in any way, but she doesn’t seem to like me. Then again, she doesn’t like my family in general.”
“Okay,” Yunho nodded. “Then who are the other two?” he asked, looking at the four people as well.
“They are Hee Sun-shii, our family’s solicitor, and Ji Min, a friend of mine. He’s here to discuss the will with my father once more before he reads it in front of us. Ji Min was Yun Sung’s lover, but they broke up because of this engagement. I know she’s a little bitter about that fact, but I’m sure Ji Min’s not someone who’ll resort to murder.”
“Hey sis, who are they?” Jin Young asked as he walked over to them, finally noticing that there were newcomers in the room. “They don’t look like someone I know.”
“Oh, they are the investigators I told you about,” Rina said happily. “Be nice to them, Jin Young,” she added.
“Whatever,” Jin Young shrugged. “I’m Sun Jin Young, but I bet you know that already. My sister here is targeted by a mad person, and if you fail to protect her, I’ll personally have your heads,” he threatened, glaring at them.
“Jin Young!” Rina scolded. “What did I tell you!?”
“Don’t worry, he’s right,” Yunho shook his head. “We’re here to do our job, and if I fail, I deserve the punishment,” he said firmly, looking straight into Jin Young’s eyes.
Jin Young smirked, and then left.
“What was the commotion about?” an older woman walked over after Jin Young left, looking at Rina in distaste. “How so like you to create a commotion at this kind of time. You’re going to be engaged today, yet you’re still fooling around with other guys.”
“I was the one who suggested calling them here,” Yun Sung cut in, looking at Ji Kyung disapprovingly. “And one of them is a behavioral analyst, so we might be able to catch the criminal before they get into action,” he added. “I told Jin Young and father about it too.”
Ji Kyung looked surprised, but then smirked a little. “Ah, a behavioral analyst, eh?” she asked in a taunting manner, and Ji Min looked over to see what was wrong. “It’s a rare opportunity to meet one. Who is it?” she asked, looking at the five boys.
“I’m sorry but we can’t tell,” Yunho said, smiling charmingly at her. “It’s against our rules.”
“Pssh, fine, be that way,” Ji Kyung huffed. “I’ll see whether you are all talk or not,” she added, still smirking, and walked away.
“Ah, I’m sorry for my aunt!” Rina exclaimed in panic as she bowed at them repeated times. “She’s sarcastic and snappy most of the time, but she’s not that bad,” she added, smiling a little at them.
“Um, we kinda figured that out by ourselves,” Junsu started, agreeing with the snappy part. “But we’re not sure about the last part,” he added, and glancing sideways.
“Jae? You can come out now,” Yunho said softly, grasping Jaejoong’s hand and tugging at it, as if asking a shy child to go up on stage and perform.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled as he walked back to his previous position-beside Yunho.
“Ah, so there’s one more person we need to meet,” Yunho remarked as he looked at the only other person remaining in the room. “Ji Min-shii is it?” he asked.
Ji Min looked at him. “Yes, what is it?” she asked as she walked over to them.
“I heard you’re friends with Rina-shii, and was Yun Sung-shii’s former lover,” Yunho started, and Jaejoong watched her in curiosity. “Are you still bitter over that fact?”
Ji Min laughed. “If I say no, I’ll be lying,” she said, smiling a little. “Yes, I’m still bitter over that fact, but not too much. After all, I knew Rina longer than I knew Yun Sung.”
Yunho nodded thoughtfully. “Thank you for your time, Ji Min-shii,” he said as he bowed, and the other four did the same. Ji Min excused herself and walked back to her room.
“I think that’s all for now. We’ll get back to work later,” Yunho said as he excused himself and walked back to the room. They then gathered in a room.
“We’ll begin the review,” Yunho announced, and Yoochun and Junsu nodded. “Since we can’t leave this mansion, there is no way we can access the crime lab.”
“Even if we can, I don’t think we have the time,” Yoochun commented, and Junsu agreed.
“Yes, that’s why we are now relying solely on our instincts, skills, and caution,” Yunho remarked. “You,” he said, pointing at Jaejoong, “have to be more cautious. The suspects all know one of us is a behavioral analyst, and it’s only about time until they go after you as well so that their identities won’t be known.”
“I know,” Jaejoong nodded.
“Next time, make sure not to tell our clients that he is one,” Yunho added, looking a little grim. “So, moving on, what have you observed, Jae?”
“From my observation, Jin Young seemed sincere enough when he threatened us,” Jaejoong said, remembering Jin Young’s expression and body language. “I can say Ji Min-shii is telling the truth when she said she was still a little bitter. Then, about Ji Kyung…” he trailed off.
“She scared you,” Junsu finished off for him. “No wonders though, since she’s not a pleasant person,” he added.
“I agree,” Yoochun butted in from beside. “But we only talked to them for a brief moment, so not much can be told. Perhaps we should go around observing them again later.”
“The party is starting in two hours,” Changmin noted as he looked at his watch. “I’m going to take a bath first, and then I’ll return here,” he announced as he got up and returned to his room.
“Well, I guess we’ll go to,” Yoochun said as he got up and helped Junsu get up. “We’ll be back here after we’re all ready,” he added, grinning at the two before walking out.
“See you hyung!” Junsu waved as he bounded out of the room.
Yunho got up to close the door, and walked back to where he sat. “Come here,” he said as he patted the empty spot on the bed beside him.
Jaejoong walked over and sat beside him, looking down at the floor near his feet.
“Look at me,” Yunho stated softly, and fell silent.
Jaejoong kept his gaze glued on the floor, but after a few moments, he finally sighed and looked at Yunho. “What is it?”
“You know I’m thankful for having you by my side, right?” Yunho asked, sitting Indian-style on the bed to properly face Jaejoong. “I’m thankful for your abilities as an analyst… but I still don’t approve of your reason and decision of becoming one… especially if it’s dangerous to you.”
“I don’t need your approval for doing this,” Jaejoong growled. “I’m not weak.”
“Oh?” Yunho asked, raising an eyebrow. “Then is this what strong people do? Abusing themselves so that they don’t have to face problems?”
“Shut up,” Jaejoong lowered his head and glared at the mattress. “You don’t know anything. Stop talking about it like it’s something so bad.”
“Because it is bad, Jae,” Yunho sighed, grabbing Jaejoong’s arms. “And I don’t want you to do this for that reason,” he added.
“Then what reason do you approve of!? So I could know if someone’s a potential criminal or not!?” Jaejoong snapped as he looked up, tears welling at the corner of his eyes. “You told me to be more selfish! Now that I am, you’re disapproving it again! What exactly do you want!?”
Yunho pulled him into a kiss, and he distinctly felt Jaejoong’s tears streaming down his cheeks, wetting his hands that were caressing his cheeks. When they broke away, he sighed and looked at Jaejoong’s eyes. “Do it so you know if you should be wary of someone when you’re out.”
“Isn’t that the same thing?” Jaejoong mumbled as he wiped away his tears, and let himself be hugged by Yunho.
“No, it’s not,” Yunho shook his head and kissed the top of Jaejoong’s head. “Now go take a bath. We need to be ready, and who knows how long you’ll take to apply make-up.”
Jaejoong glared at Yunho. “I hate you.”
“I know,” Yunho said, smiling slightly. “I love you too.”
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“So he’s a behavioral analyst?”
“Yes, and I need you to get rid of him first.”
“What about Rina?”
“She can wait, but he can’t. Rina won’t know, but he might.”
“I see. Alright, I’ll see what I can do.”
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“I told you, you look nice,” Yunho mumbled softly as he helped Jaejoong smooth down the fabric of the dress.
“Shut it. I’m still not happy about this,” Jaejoong grunted as he looked down. “Where did you find the damned sandals anyway?” he asked, looking at the pinkish sandals.
“I borrowed it from the landlady,” Yunho shrugged. “We’ll have to return it to her tomorrow,” he added. “Shall we go now?” he asked then, looking at his watch and noticing that it was only half an hour left before the party started.
Just then, Yoochun, Changmin, and Junsu all came into their room dressed in their respective suits that fit them nicely. They were busy fiddling with their sleeves, but then looked up to see their hyung-deul.
“Hey, that looks nice, Jae-hyung,” Changmin commented as he fastened the button on his sleeve and smiled at him. “Shall we go now?”
The others agreed, and they walked down to the ballroom together.
Rina and Yun Sung greeted them at the entrance.
“For a male, you’re awfully beautiful, Jaejoong-shii,” Yun Sung commented, smiling at Jaejoong as he shook his hand.
“Yes he is,” Yunho interrupted as he shook Yun Sung’s hand, lightly gripping at it.
“Eh? Jaejoong-shii is male?” Rina freaked out. “I’m so sorry! I thought you’re female!” she apologized profusely.
“Um, don’t worry, Rina-shii. Everyone thinks I’m a woman when they only see my face,” Jaejoong sighed, and patted her back reassuringly. “I’ll be going in first,” he said, and was promptly dragged away from the pair by Yunho.
Yoochun shook his head and sighed heavily. “Forgive him. He’s always like that when others are being friendly with Jae,” he commented as he shook Yun Sung’s hand.
“Ah, he’s the protective type, isn’t he?” Yun Sung laughed lightly. “It’s not a bad thing, really.”
“I know, but he becomes possessive once in a while,” Junsu butted in as he too shook Yun Sung and Rina’s hands.
“Anyway, we’re going to catch up now,” Changmin said as he shook their hands as well, and entered the ballroom with the two.
Meanwhile, Yunho and Jaejoong were standing near the middle of the room, near the huge chandelier so their place was bright. The reading of the will was supposed to be at the end of the event, after the engagement was made official.
“That means we still have about two hours before the will is read,” Yunho deduced. “I’m sure whoever it is, they will act before the reading of the will,” he added.
“I know,” Jaejoong commented, crossing his arms in front of his chest. “Look at your left. He’s behaving strangely,” he said, and kept looking forward.
Yunho stole a glance to his left, and saw a man standing beside the buffet table. He was wearing a black suit and a gray tie, but he was glancing at them occasionally.
After a few more glances their way, he disappeared behind the crowd of rich guests who were invited to attend the party.
“I’m going to give chase,” Yunho announced. “Will you be alright?” he asked, worry evident in his tone.
“Yes, I will,” Jaejoong sighed. “Now go.”
Yunho smiled a little, and took off his suit before he draped it over Jaejoong’s shoulders. “Keep it for me,” he said as he kissed Jaejoong’s chastely. “Now you’re borrowing my suit, aren’t you?”
Jaejoong slapped his arm and huffed. “Go away.”
Yunho laughed and kissed him one last time before he blended in with the crowd as well.
“Jae-hyung?” Changmin asked as he finally spotted him. There were not many ladies wearing a suit over their dresses after all. “Where is Yunho-hyung?”
“He’s off to give chase to a suspicious person,” Jaejoong answered. “I think he won’t be back for a while.”
Changmin’s mouth formed an ‘o’. He wanted to go with Yunho, but he knew he’d just get in the way since stealth wasn’t his forte. “I’ll keep you company then,” he decided, and stood beside Jaejoong.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
Yunho had been following the man for a while now, but he was still walking around randomly.
“Hey, what are you doing here?” Jin Young asked as he saw Yunho standing behind a pillar. He frowned as Yunho shushed him, but walked forward to approach him. “What are you doing?”
“I’m following that guy, can’t you tell?” Yunho resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “Hey, there’s a question I wanted to ask you as well,” he said then, remembering something.
“What is it?” Jin Young asked curiously, although his tone was still a little snappish.
“Who made the will? Do you know?” Yunho asked.
“My father made it himself. Hee Sun-shii is there, and my father’s family is there as well to be the witnesses,” Jin Young said. “I don’t care, though. Yun Sung himself is a wealthy man, I’m sure my sister won’t need the family company. She said she’s giving it to me.”
“Oh?” Yunho looked taken aback. Does that mean one suspect down? But then again, he wasn’t Jaejoong, and he couldn’t tell if Jin Young was lying or not.
“Yeah. I suggest you go now, he’s moving onward again,” he commented as he pointed the man Yunho had been following.
“Ah, right, I’ll see you later,” Yunho said hurriedly and walked after him.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“What are you doing here?” Ji Kyung asked suspiciously when he saw Yunho walking along the corridor. “Aren’t you supposed to be in the ballroom?”
“I’m investigating,” Yunho said, shrugging. “Oh, I have a question to ask you.”
“Spill,” Ji Kyung ordered, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
“Did you hear about the targeting of Rina-shii?” Yunho asked.
“Yes. Everyone in the family knows,” Ji Kyung confirmed. “I don’t know why they would want to target her, though. I don’t think she’s worth the trouble. The only one who will benefit from her death is probably Yun Sung, because the company will still be given to him even if Rina dies.”
“Okay, thank you for your time,” Yunho bowed his head and continued following the man.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“Yunho-shii? What are you doing here? I thought the ceremony is going to take place soon,” Ji Min commented as she walked out of her room dressed in a gray flowing dress.
“I’m going to the ballroom in a while,” Yunho answered, smiling at her. “Say, Ji Min-shii, do you mind if I ask you a question?”
“No, of course not,” Ji Min shook her head. “What is it?”
“Do you think, if Rina-shii dies, Yun Sung-shii will go back to you?” Yunho asked.
“What!? Of course not!” Ji Min shouted in surprise. “Yun Sung is a loyal person. He is forced to break up with me because his father told him to, but that was two months ago, and I’m sure he won’t find Rina’s replacement that easily.”
Yunho nodded thoughtfully. “Alright, thank you for your time, Ji Min-shii. I’ll join you guys in the ballroom soon,” he said, and continued following the man he was following earlier.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“Aish, I should have brought Jae with me,” Yunho grumbled to himself. “That way I can tell who’s lying and who isn’t,” he added, but then shook his head. “No, if that person saw Jae missing, then the whole thing would be jeopardized,” he mumbled to himself.
“Ah, Hee Sun-shii!” he called suddenly when he saw the family solicitor walking out of his room. “Wait up!” he called.
Hee Sun looked at him in confusion. “Yes? How can I help you?”
“I need to confirm a thing,” Yunho admitted. “Please, answer me as truthfully as you can.”
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
A man stood in a dark room, a knife in one hand. He was breathing heavily because of nervousness as he slowly reached for a thick rope, and began slicing it slowly.
“Halt!” Yunho shouted as he turned the lamps on suddenly, blinding the man for an instant. He quickly took the chance to snatch the knife away from him, and to pin him down onto the floor with his arms behind him.
“You!” the man shouted as he saw Yunho.
“Yes, me. I seem to get that a lot,” Yunho sighed, slipping the pocket knife into his back pocket, and pulling at a nearby rope to tie the man’s hands. “I’m sorry, but the one you’re targeting right now is off-limits,” he smirked as he finished tying the man’s hands.
“Aren’t you going to ask me who ordered me to do this?” the man asked, looking at him.
“No need, I already know, Kim Soo Jung-shii,” Yunho said in a taunting manner. “Although, I do need to know what you’re going to do to Rina-shii. Now, don’t even think of lying. I think this knife is sharp enough to cut through your neck.”
“Fine! I’ll tell!”
“Good.”
End of Fight for Inheritance
I’ll be adding extra info on the boys as the cases go by :3 this one will include the info given in case two as well
Jung Yunho: son of an investigator. He met Jae for the first time when his father was rescuing him, and then he followed his father’s steps in becoming an investigator. He disapproves Jae’s reason of becoming a behavioral analyst
Kim Jaejoong: a behavioral analyst. He had known Yunho for twelve years, but he only started trusting Yunho right before he joined the HGP team. He hates spiders, and is incredibly easy to guilt trip if it’s about others
My stories are really becoming very Yunjae-centric, don’t you think? I’m amazed at how quick Yunjae can make up after a fight :DDD Anyway, I need your help!
