A/N: the first chapter of Four Seasons! Finally! XDDD I’ve been procrastinating for too long. Lovely Lover’s outline is still not finished, and I suspect I’ll be making a major change in it -_-;;;;
Anyway… I’ll work on case three’s details tonight or tomorrow, and hopefully get it up by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow :DDD
Chapter One - Surprise Party
“Hey, you arrived earlier than I thought,” Donghae commented when he opened the door to his apartment, and was promptly dragged by the five boys to help them bring the boxes inside their own apartment and unpack. “At least have the decency to let me lock my door first,” he muttered.
“So, these are all the boxes?’ Donghae asked, looking at the boxes piled at one side of the room. “How did you pile it that high?” he asked, pointing at the tallest pile and wondered if Yunho or Changmin was the descendant of Superman or something.
“Yes,” Jaejoong answered as he walked back into the living room. “There aren’t many things inside, actually, just a few,” he added, and then grabbed a box and carried it to his room to make his point clearer.
“How many rooms are there here?” Donghae asked as he looked at the remaining three in the living room-the Yoosumin. “My apartment is smaller than this one.”
“Of course. Your apartment is a single bedroom one, right?” Yoochun asked. “We have three bedrooms here,” he added, pointing at the three doors lined up at the hallway, with the fourth door at the end of the hallway being the bathroom.
They brought the labeled boxes to the respective rooms, and finally took a break, lounging in the living room, chatting animatedly as Jaejoong went to the kitchen to make some drinks.
“I thought I’d never see the mountain of boxes go down,” Yoochun groaned, stretching like a cat and he could hear several snaps. “Urgh… and we haven’t unpacked yet.”
“Cheer up, Chunnie,” Junsu patted his back. “At least we only have to unpack our clothes for today,” he added as he leaned back on the couch and sighed tiredly.
Donghae looked surprised, and he quickly got up. “Excuse me, I need to use the bathroom,” he said, laughing uneasily as he retreated to the bathroom quickly.
“Hm? What’s wrong with Donghae-shii?” Jaejoong asked as he walked into the living room carrying a tray with six glasses of iced lemon tea on top. Each glass of tea had two lemon slices inside, and a metal stick was inserted into the glass for stirring.
“He’s going to the bathroom,” Yunho answered as he took his glass and drank from it. “I’m dreading the unpacking… hopefully we’re not going to move anywhere anytime soon.”
“Hopefully,” Changmin agreed.
Donghae exited the bathroom shortly afterwards and made his way back to the living room. He sat on the armchair and took his glass, drinking slowly. Jaejoong looked at him strangely, but didn’t say anything.
The doorbell rang, and they all looked at the front door.
“I’ll go get it,” Jaejoong offered as he got up, and Donghae smiled behind his glass as he continued to drink his tea.
Jaejoong walked over to the front door, and opened it. Before he even had the chance to ask who the visitor was looking for, a loud noise interrupted him.
“Surprise!”
Jaejoong was left speechless for a while as he stared at the six boys standing in front of him. “Wha- you guys- how?” he asked, blinking in surprise and confusion.
“We applied for the college near here, since you’re applying there too,” Heechul answered, grinning widely as he pulled Jaejoong into a hug. “We miss you, dongsaeng.”
“I miss you too hyung,” Jaejoong said as he hugged Heechul back. “But how did you know I applied there?” he asked.
“I’m friends with Donghae and Junsu, if you didn’t know,” Hyukjae answered quickly as he stepped up beside Heechul and hugged Jaejoong. “I called Donghae earlier. That was why he excused himself to the bathroom.”
“Oi! No need to spill it!” Donghae protested from inside.
“Hyukjae! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming!?” Junsu protested as well, but both protests went unheeded.
“Plus, your mother asked us to look after you,” Hankyung explained when Jaejoong still looked doubtful, and stepped up to take his turn hugging Jaejoong.
“Ah I see,” Jaejoong nodded in understanding.
“Apparently your mother thinks you’re too nice to be on your own,” Keita commented, laughing as he hugged Jaejoong as well, ignoring Jaejoong’s pout.
“And, Heechul-ah wanted to go back to Korea too,” Shiwon added, walking up beside Heechul and hugged Jaejoong briefly. “He also apologized for your luggage.”
“That’s right!” Jaejoong exclaimed, looking at Heechul sternly. “Where did you get those things? They looked expensive,” he commented, and the others almost fell comically to the floor.
“You’re still as nice, Jae-ah,” Seven stated as he hugged Jaejoong and walked to stand beside Hankyung. “This is your new apartment?” he asked.
“Yes. It’s nice, isn’t it?” he asked, walking inside, followed by the six boys. “Where do you guys live?”
“Oh, you won’t believe it,” Heechul said with a naughty grin.
“Where is it?” Jaejoong urged, pulling Heechul’s sleeve playfully.
“We live right beside you,” Keita piped up from behind. “Donghae told us you’re moving here so we rented the apartment next door,” he explained.
“Ah, I see. Do you want something to drink?” Jaejoong offered as he walked towards the kitchen. “Think of it as a welcome party for you guys,” he added, laughing a little.
“I want coke,” Shiwon mumbled softly.
“I’ll have coffee,” Heechul said as he walked into the kitchen as well. “Here, let me help you.”
“Thank you,” Jaejoong nodded gratefully as him as he listed everything they wanted, and began working on them together with Heechul.
Meanwhile, in the living room, the ten boys were talking to each other.
“So you guys are Jae’s friends from Japan?” Yoochun asked as he looked at the five. “I’m Park Yoochun, Jae’s cousin. Nice to meet you,” he introduced himself as he extended his hand towards the five.
“I’m Choi Dongwook, but everyone calls me Seven,” Seven introduced himself as he shook Yoochun’s hand.
“I’m Keita. The one beside me is Hyukjae, then Hankyung, and finally Shiwon. The one in the kitchen with Jaejoong is Heechul,” Keita introduced the others, and they nodded at Yoochun.
“We are Jae’s friends during senior year,” Junsu butted in. “My name is Kim Junsu. This is Shim Changmin, and that is Jung Yunho,” he introduced them.
“Nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too.”
Heechul and Jaejoong walked into the living room with two trays of drinks, and placed them on the table before joining the others around the coffee table.
“What were you talking about?” Jaejoong asked Yunho who was sitting beside him.
“Oh, we were just introducing ourselves,” Yunho answered with a shrug.
“Jae-ah,” Seven called as he motioned for Jaejoong to lean closer. “How was your senior year here? I was surprised when you didn’t turn up at school.”
“Ah, it went well,” Jaejoong answered with a wide smile. “It was fun. Though, I’m sorry for not telling you that I’m going. I told Heechul-hyung and Shiwon-hyung, so I thought they’d tell you guys.”
“They did, but I was still worried,” Seven sighed, patting Jaejoong’s head lightly.
“Sorry for making you worry,” Jaejoong bowed at him.
Seven smiled lightly at him, and leaned forward to kiss Jaejoong’s forehead, but his lips never made contact with Jaejoong’s forehead.
“Hey Jae, looks like Heechul-shii needs our help. Why don’t we see if we can help him?” Yunho asked as he dragged Jaejoong with him to approach Heechul who was looking around in the kitchen in confusion.
Keita saw the exchange, and took Jaejoong’s previous seat.
“You still like him?” Keita asked flatly, his face showing no emotion.
“Yes. I know it was stupid of me for not telling him sooner, but I met him again, finally,” Seven said, remembering the day when he heard that Jaejoong had moved to Korea. He was surprised and shocked, to say the least. He had planned on telling Jaejoong that he liked him, but he never got the chance to.
“Give it up,” Keita said flatly again, though now his eyes showed sympathy. “He’s engaged to that guy. You have no chance with him.”
“Eh? No way! He’s never told us about it!” Seven denied it.
“He has. It’s just that he forgot about it,” Keita shrugged. “Ask Heechul if you don’t believe me. He knows as well,” he added, and patted Seven’s back lightly before he walked off.
Seven looked disturbed. He quickly got up, and approached Jaejoong who was still in the kitchen. “Jae-”
“Hey Boo, come here! Look! There’s a house lizard here!”
“Um, Yunho-yah, what’s so special about a house lizard?”
“Exactly! Because it’s not special, it is special!”
“…”
End of Chapter One
Not much humor in this series. Hopefully it will pick up as I progress :D
