*looks sternly at you* Yes you do....

a) I friended you because you had a cool OKC profile which lead me to your Livejournal, which also lead to a great random meet-up at Mike's Restaurant one late night :)

b) It'll be a while before I associate you with something other than Tonya and Nancy...

c) You have this really awesome calm demeanor that makes other people feel really at ease and listened to.

d) I'd have to go for that first random meet-up at Mike's and how much it lead to.

e) How is it that such a peaceful guy as you has such skill in violence?

f) It's really a toss-up between "climbing the walls" and "color" because both say so much about you

Funny, I had forgotten that I had an OKC until relatively recently because I had originally signed up specifically to take a quiz.

How is it that such a peaceful guy as you has such skill in violence?

One is directly related to the other. The best fight directors and martial arts types I've met are really laid back peaceful people. Even the scary ones.

On one level, by constantly enacting it on some level or another in a safe context, very little of it actually stays in one's system. (I actually upblished a paper on this idea as it relates to certain martial arts training methods a few years ago).

On another level, the more one understands the consequences of violence, the less one would want to engage in it. That's emotional violence as well as physical.

In the past couple years I've been working part time for a non profit that specifically deals with violence prevention and takes emotional aspects into account as well. It's a real eye opener. Some of its been playing into my writing lately.

a) I friended you after I played in the orchestra for Yeoman and not only were you an awesome and singer, but you were just such a great guy (I'm sure you still are...)

b) I'll always associate you with Gilbert and Sullivan :)

c) You have a lot of class and grace, especially when faced with tougher times than most have known. I also like the determination with which you followed your dream and how well you're doing!

d) Other than the first time I heard you sing, which was quite an impression, I'd have to go with nice chats in green rooms.

e) How did you manage to weather such injustice yet still hold it together with such a great smile? What do you draw on for that kind of strength?

f) I'd have to go with your "shut up" icon because we're both such music geeks!

a) I friended you because you were this awesome girl I met at Opus and I wanted to keep track of what's been going on in your life, since you've got a LOT going on!

b) I think the song "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes, after one of those great heart to hearts where you introduced me to that song.

c) You have such a unique artistic soul that is absolutely beautiful.

d) I remember that night you came over to help me unpack in my new flat and what a nice time we had that evening just eating and talking (oh, and cleaning manky drawers!).

e) What are you planning on doing when you finish college?

f) Your chalice belly, of course!

a) I friended you because you were this awesome girl I met at Opus and when you post, you say the coolest, cleverest shit.

b) Whenever I think of you, I think of campfires.

c) You are so incredibly intelligent with a wisdom beyond your years and that you manage to see people really for who they are in a really compassionate way.

d) Sitting on some tables at the back of a Concentric business meeting and bonding while exchanging snarky commentaries :)

e) I've always wondered about how you grew up and what your life was like.

f) I really like your phone photo...you look like a movie star :)

wow, so many good memories just rushed back to me thinking about those things.

and talk about a life story question... basics are that I grew up in Chicago, the city, with a twin brother and an older brother, my grandfather was a big part of raising me which is part of why I have a strong connection to my Polish heritage. Humm, I dunno, my life wasn't easy, being raised european in a big american city.... family issues up the wazoo... we'll totally have to spend hours sitting around chatting... by a campfire. :)
