This was once written by Goethe. Many Germans quote it wrong: "Warum in die Ferne schweifen, wenn das Gute liegt so nah?" meaning something like: "Why go far when you can find all the great things here?"

I experienced that about 10 minutes ago. It's been over 1 1/2 years since I moved into this flat, and it's been one month since my flatmate left.
