What to do

So I have decided to go back to school. Not too thrilled about it, but what else am I supposed to do? It's been almost three years since I graduated grad school and that's three years that I have not done anything with art therapy. I can't express my distaste about the program and how I ended up in words at all. But it happened and I will take what ( Read more... )

To be completely honest, if I was still in Rochester, I'd seriously consider signing up for that nursing program. It sounds awesome, and I miss helping people.

I'm sure it will cost you a limb, but FYI, UofR is ranked 32nd in the country for nursing. It sounds like one hell of a year, but worth it!

It does sound like one hell of a year, but it is probably so worth it. If I went to GCC I would be with a bunch of younger, and probably immature, people. Not that it's a bad thing, but I think it would annoy me lol.

I am going to apply for the program at UofR and then set up an appointment to talk to them about it (or set up an appointment and then apply... but apply non-the-less).

I'm not sure I like that would not be able to work for a year, but I'm sure my parents (and even my mom, because it's nursing) would support me where needed.

Hey Jess, well the U of R program is more like 3 semisters, and you are right you wouldn't really be able to work during that time period. The discounted classes were somewhere in the neighborhood of $500-$600 a credit hour. Your best guess, or at least what I'm trying to do, is get your RN from either MCC or GCC, then while working for a hospital have them pay to send you to U of R. Either way, I wish you all the best, and I'm sure you'll do great.
