was it a black-and-white 60s Dark Side or one from the 90s revival?

Are you maybe talking about The Outer Limits? I think Darkside was only the one run in the 80s, but OL had two editions. I love the old Outer Limits!

Hopefully it's going to be a book of short essays about New Orleans. Given the vagaries of the publishing industry, it's no certainty, but I'm hoping it will turn into something tangible.

hay seidey! where was that essay you wrote about being a mom to a son who joined the military? am i mistaken, didn't you write an essay somewhere

I have a mama friend who coudl really really use to read this now, or who would benefit from your experiences. to her avail, it looks like her 18 year son, with her parents encouragement (who he is living with right now, cuz he had so many troubles at his old school/neighborhood/etc.), is going to sign up - and its breaking her heart/freaking her out. she told me she doesnt' want any anti-recruitment info, he knows, he's strong willed, and its the first time I've seen her kinda sigh a different sigh then "over my dead body". its a hard time and I wonder where your essay was, I think it would be comforting and hopeful - thanx
