My grandmother (old, mobility/hearing issues, mild memory problems, and also an all around personality disordered hard to deal with jerkface) was in Fleischman's in the Catskills, where there was a lot of flooding. Her motel is "gone", as she put it (EDIT: no seriously this thing is floating down main street it is not even attached to the ground Read more... )

No kidding! D:

kittendaddy's family are in Queens and Upstate, but they're all OK. They didn't even lose power!

If she had just stayed in Queens. Or gone back to Queens. Or ANYTHING but stayed in the country, this wouldn't be a problem anymore.

I know...but it's better to be pissed off later once all this shit is over with, even though I know that's gotta be really hard to do right now.

*more hugs*

Also wow...and I have been failing to tag that so hard, ahaha...

Speaking of Damned, if there's NS missions again, are we gonna try for Badd and Byrne to get one again?

I'd help you if I had anything I could do. Will be sending thoughts and prayers your way, though. This whole situation is just awful.

Oh no. I'm sorry. I hope that things have improved for your grandmother. Sadly, I can only send internet hugs and purrs from my cat, but I hope they help a tiny bit.

Getting her out of the Catskills turned out to be the easy part, actually. It's made her dementia worse and she's freaking out and calling my parents every time she's alone or has the slightest cough or anything she can do to get attention.

We're all pretty sure that she'll have to go live near my parents at an assisted living facility pretty soon. Whether she wants to or not.

Oh man. That's awful. I'm really sorry.

That's so rough. It's the right decision to make but it doesn't make it any easier.

*sends extra hugs for you and also cuddles from my cat and also some pie*

It doesn't help that she's a selfish horrid person on top of it. Not once did my parents get a thank you, and she was insisting that they drop everything and come back to NY because she had a cold and "I never asked for anything and nobody ever did anything for me".

Don't be mistaken. We don't actually like her. But she's family and my dad has a guilt complex.
