Well, shit.

We have a heat wave moving in, constant storms (which blew all our stuff off the dock a day ago) haven't made a dent in the heat already present, and our A/C for the entire upstairs just broke. Going downstairs is like descending into a dark and cool cave in comparison to the humid hotbox is that is the living space of the house ( Read more... )

If we had a cooler at work, I think I'd move in to it. I can't remember the last time it was this hot for this long up here.

(And the worst is that the weather channel is always underestimating the temperature by at least ten degrees, and I keep falling for it. Seriously, their temperature gauge for Petoskey must be on a buoy out in the middle of the bay -- it is NOT 73 degrees.)

It's 98F according to one of the big LED signs near my house. Even swimming's not much help, since the top two feet of the lake are practically bathwater levels.

You just reminded me that I need to finish watching Helloween's LP of the latest Alien Vs. Predator game. Also need to get to Cryostasis and a few other LPs he's done. Right as I finish rewatching Spoony's Phantasmagoria 2 LP

~PHANTASMAGORIA!~

I love Spoony. And to be honest I've a mild soft spot for the game itself, if only because of its fair treatment of BDSM and bisexuality. Too bad it's so banal that the good parts are buried in an hour of Curtis' normal work day. I should rewatch that.

I'd recommend watching Cryostasis before Metro 2033. The latter is a superior game plotwise, so you're working up to the really tasty stuff.

~TRYING TO REMEMBER YOUR LOGIN~

I was kinda hoping both the shallow love interests would bite it so Curtis would get together with Trevor. I think even Spoony was kinda hoping for that, if only because Trevor was the only likable guy in the whole game and had more chemistry with Curtis than either of the women.

Therese was there to help deal with Curtis' weird sexual issues/needs, but I'm sure Trevor would be able to adapt. And actually be nice about it rather than breaking into his house and installing things on his ceiling.

My personal alternate ending is that he actually does leave town and goes and finds some nice place up in the mountains with Trevor and they are functionally happy ever after. Or I suppose he could make another Trevor out of whatever the heck (our) Curtis is made of.

Want to swap? It's not exactly cold here at the moment but it's a lot more civilised than what you've got, and meanwhile I could just use a few days spent lying around in warm water and watching thunderstorms.

*hugs* Hope you can get the aircon fixed soon, at any rate!

I'll be happy to swap, your country doesn't seem to get proper thunderstorms and you deserve them. Although having to walk a mile out of my way to get anywhere is a little less than tempting.

And warm water is right. The top two feet of the lake is bathwater, we can't even get relief while swimming.

True, but at least rumour has it that the bridge is getting repaired on Tuesday. I assume your weather will be continuing until further notice.

Wow. Does the tap water stay cold, when the weather is like that? *curious* Or does the ground heat up so bad that even that ends up warm?

The showers at least are cold, but the water's contained in our basement so that might be doing it.

The lake will probably change once they start pumping the water from Norris Lake through the dams. I'm surprised they haven't done it already, with how much air conditioning use must be going on.
