Adventure(con) Ho!

May 29, 2010 23:55

Yeah, East Tennessee has cons. Who knew? I didn't, or at least not until my parents saw an article on it in the paper yesterday. My dad (who has always wanted to see a proper con, although to be honest I think he just wanted to hang out with me) and I went up to Pigeon Forge in the afternoon. Traffic was mad, but it was oh so deliciously worth it ( Read more... )

It's very recognizable, there was a Tardis at the London Expo too.

Yeah there was one this weekend too. They were charging a fiver for people take photos in front of it. Like, what the hell? xD We just sneakily took one round the side and no one noticed.

DUDE, Mick Foley! And holy shit, Raven was around as well? Damn! I wish I could've been there.

Also, that dude in the Ghost Rider costume rocks. Nice try - it's not exactly easy to look like your head's on fire, let's face it...

Glad you had fun, anyway! Although yeah, your Dad clearly needs coaching on What To Take Photos Of. What is it with parents and an inability to realise that their children are not the only photograph-worthy things in the universe? >.>

*hugs*

I wish I hadn't been too scared to talk to him, I just have no idea what I'd say. I don't even know his professional work, just that he's been on the Daily Show and he contains a statistically significant amount of win.

Ghost Rider dude was probably at least in the runner's up for best comic book costume. One of the lost photos, I believe, is of someone with a Ghost Rider booth...possibly one of the original writers. *bemourns vanished pics*

(Raven?)

*hugs* Well, at least you got a photo of him. That's cool. Although tbh, if you'd gone over to him and said "Dude, you were awesome on the Daily Show" he'd probably have been completely down with that. :)

Vanished pics is a terribly sad thing. Woes! :(

(Check to the right of Mick's table in the first photo, and you'll see Raven's banner. He's another hardcore wrestler with a kind of sociopathic S&M gothic gimmick - imagine a cross between Poe, the Crow and the Marquis de Sade armed with a folding chair and a roll of barbed wire and you've more or less got Raven. He's, well... he's awesome if you're me, anyway. *g*)

I don't think he was there, or if he was there I didn't notice him.

I get shy easily with people I think are cool, you should have seen me flutter around Zimbardo.

And no con is complete without a gold bikini Leia!

This should be some sort of law or commandment or something.

They are so adorable, eee! I was trying to get a picture of you three during the entire contest but they were ahead of me and (as mentioned above) my dad didn't quite grasp the point of why I wanted him taking pictures. Not that I blame them taking the costumes off right after.
