Also I cut my finger on the slicer blade.

Yes, I made it out of Chicago. I've just sort of been in flop mode for the last few days, between jet lag and my work at the Big Blue Grocery. The job isn't horrible, but it does involve a lot of standing and doing the same thing for hours on end and it tends to wear one down. I got a lot of hours this week so I haven't had a lot of time to sit ( Read more... )

Lived in Illinois for two years and never ventured to Chicago (but then, I wasn't of age to start driving). Glad you enjoyed the trip. :) Flying is fun.

I've been flying hither and yon for so long that flying almost doesn't get me excited anymore.

Almost.

I still thrill at takeoff and try to get a window seat whenever possible.

I haven't flown in years. The vast majority of my travels across the states have been in mini- and conversion vans, and RVs.

I've been traveling between New York, here, and England for the most part...the two hour Asheville/Knoxville route seems small in comparison even with taking the windy route over the mountains.

It'll be nice when I can actually settle down instead of bouncing between states every four months.

It's the tinest nick on my middle finger, I didn't even notice it until I felt a hole in my glove and looked down to notice a curious red fluid leaking out of me. I'd consider the worst part to be when that little flap of skin gets caught between the keys of my keyboard, so I'm wearing a bandaid even thought it doesn't need it.

These submarines are interesting - they're so claustrophobic *shudders* And to think people were underwater and fighting with these things...

I imagine it was pretty terrifying, especially the part where they were expected to scuttle their own u-boat in case of boarding (and they nearly succeeded with this one).

The discovery of the Japanese garden sounds lovely.

Also, Ace Attorney Investigations! I am jealous.

If you can't buy it, get it as an emulator or something. It's wonderful.

I cut myself on one of the slices at Wal-Mart once. Or at least, I think I did, because I don't actually remember cutting myself. I just looked down and noticed a hole in my glove that was leaking red. Freakiest thing.

Glad to hear you've been doing okay. ^^ An honest day's work is exhausting, but you get used to it in time. Unless your managers are assholes. But that's a different issue completely. Hope the tendonitis works out.

They're just that dang sharp, I think. They must be, to cut through other flesh so smoothly.

It's not tendonitis, apparently, given that it's red, swollen, itchy, and busting out on my arms and hand at random intervals. We're gonna see a doctor because this is just getting annoying.
