Yours truly have been playing visual novels lately. For those who have never heard of it, it's like reading a novel on your computer, accompanied by graphic and music (and voiced dialogue most of the time). In short, it's like playing an anime, instead of watching it.

One thing stands out when thinking of Tsukihime anime. Normal storyline, normal storyline, normal storyline, RANDOM VAMPIRE SEX SCENE, normal storyline, normal storyline...

Once you get past that it was a really strong story and a really, really unique idea.

I've never really finished watching the anime, I think I only watched up to ep.4... did they ever explain in the anime why is it that he killed Arcueid?

That is a loss to the anime, then. But nothing that can't be explained by fans.
