People go "OOH, A SHINY NEW SET! I'M GOING TO USE IT AND SEE HOW IT WORKS OUT."
And then they're promptly disappointed and get rid of there cards. Fortunately some good does come of this, though, for those who don't go with the craze and just constantly beat weak new decktypes, thus boosting their win record. And also for those who sell cards en masse to idiots who need three of every card in the set.
What's great is that the same sets are likely to get additional support in later releases and the process repeats itself until it actually becomes worth playing.
