Urk, you're pushing me off the plank aren't you? I see sharks circling!

Tis not that I don't want to write it, just it is turning into something different than I planned. I like my plans, they are neat and tidy and taste like chicken.

Oh, all right I will go and write some more, but I don't want to write sex for this one, I want to see either side of it. Or maybe none at all if I am feeling mean!

Too often it's hard to even think about taking vacation because it seems like twice the work preping to leave and then twice the work waiting for you when you get back. I haven't had more than a day off since I started the job I'm in and don't feel that I can take more time off than that. Right now, I'm trying to get caught up enough to take one day off in October. I have might doubts about that even happening.

And it's not that I think I'm unreplaceable - it's just that I know no one will do my work if there's a chance of me coming back. Or they'll do just the bare minimum and leave the mess for me to clean up. It's easier just not to take vacation.

Then again, I don't have fanfic whirling in my head, begging to be typed out! I'm sure it makes a huge difference.

Sorry that your mom is running you ragged, though. I'm not sure if the problem is seniors, moms, or just some people who don't seem to realize that they are so high-maintenance. But, you know, you made yummy orange cake and that's something...maybe?

I know exactly what you mean. The only thing that ever gets down while I'm away is someone unpacks cartons of mail and piles stuff up on shelves for me. Yeah, very helpful people. It makes you feel totally guilty for taking time off and then you get stressed whatever you do. Stressed if you stay and work harder. Stressed if you go away and come back to triple the work. The only solution is to abandon ship and not go back. Hmm must go buy a lottery ticket so I can choose that option ( ... )

Take a nurse, for instance - she comes in, cares for who's there, then goes home. If she takes time off, those patients don't wait around for her to get back - no, someone else takes care of them ( ... )

Ah, to have a job like you described where the work actually gets done in your absence. Sounds like heaven. Shame neither of us have that.

Sadly, I too, do not have the lottery winner's gene. Quite unfair really.

Parents - yup. Just shouldn't have them living with you. I don't recommend it. Once you do it you're kind of stuck with them - like quicksand except much slower.

UNPACKING? *squeals* I can do that! I'm the packing/unpacking queen! I'll be right over to help get you organised. Do you have a floor plan? I could draw up a spreadsheet to speed up the process. I could make ... *shakes with excitement* ... labels for everything.

*dashes off scrawling a to-do list for TB*
