Ladders and leaks

Jun 03, 2008 18:57

Long sleepless night last night up and down with torch every 30 mins checking status of leak in ceiling and changing towels and buckets. Felt like I was a heroine in a disaster film but still waiting for leading man to turn up and sweep off into the sunset at the end. *sigh* Never happened. You know? Life sucks. I prefer movies. Rain finally ( Read more... )

Ta. Hasn't rained all day despite menacing clouds and the sound of Bobby's voice from the heavens saying 'Storm's coming.' So don't know if roof fixed or not :(

well it rained here too....I think it was all your buckets cos it just kept coming down.

I have another 1000 words on Ghosts...\O/ Yea! I think I am going to can them.../O\ Boo!

I spent all day cajoling service agents to do jobs they had promised to do already and hadn't or updating speadsheets or cajoling a stupid web based application to work when it didn't want to...::sigh:: tomorrow I get to concentrate on a different spreadsheet and paying invoices ... er ... yea! /O\

...and now here I sit listening to Bonnie Rait and thinking of lemons and sunshine and coffee...

Hugs for the roof. Lets hope you tame tradesman is right and no more leaks. :-)

Yup. Longest and most severe drought since the 50s I think. Few storms here and there have not changed that though. Not enough rains falling on farmland, or in catchment areas for the dams. Checked the Water website today and the 3 for our area together are still only at about 37% capacity. We're still on severe water restrictions, with a certain no. of litres of water per person per day for everything. So it is a shame to see any drops wasted by hitting my carpet.

Darned guttering is stupidly vented straight into the storm water drains. What a waste.
