She yawned as she walked over, stretching her arms up over her head, but she shot him the closest thing to a crooked grin she could manage all the same. "Hey," she said, just loudly to be enough, then took a seat beside him, already opening her bag to fish out a cigarette of her own. "Still can't sleep, huh?" She couldn't blame him, really. They both had something to look forward to the next morning -- he'd be one step closer to his girlfriend, she'd be one step closer to getting the hell out of this place, just like she'd wanted since she first woke up here.

"I think I may just miss sleeping in the car," he replied dryly, shrugging one shoulder. He didn't know exactly what the matter was, truth be told, but joking about it seemed as good a way to deal with things as any. He took a long drag before speaking again. "Guess you can't sleep either, huh?"

He had to admit, he was going to miss having Eugene around when they set out in the morning. As much of a headache he could be sometimes, he was the closest thing Zia could call a friend in a long time. He knew it was for the best, but it didn't make it any easier.
He took another slow drag, staring at the fire now instead of towards Mikal. "So, you think the guy that has Kneller's dog is really going to pull off some big miracle?"
