[confrontation part 2]

Whatever the hell was going on here, Georgie doesn't like it. She doesn't like that her room's been searched, that she's been held for further questioning in what amounts to a damn cell in the compound. Further questioning, straightening out stories, she's never been in trouble like this before. She hasn't admitted anything, she doesn't think ( Read more... )

Serena had gone to Chuck and Blair and Eric and she'd told her tale, and when she'd come out on the other side of it, she'd been content to let them do what they would. Wind them up and watch them go. Whatever they'd chosen, she didn't want to be a part of it. It had been hard enough to make her confession. Everything after that had seemed somehow unreal - until this. This was concrete. This was something she'd been waiting for without even knowing it.

She made her way to the IPD, leaving her name at the desk before moving back to stand outside the cell, and there in the way she stood and the smirk she wore was a bit of the old Serena, the one Georgina had been looking for. "You know," she said, "this is a good look on you. Behind bars. You really make it work, Georgie."

"S, you have to see they did this. Chuck, Blair. They totally framed me," she stood, her hands on the bars, leaning up against them. It could be a moment from a movie, couldn't it? The betrayed girl pleading with her friend, protesting her innocence.

Even if she wasn't so innocent. "They've never liked me, and now they've done this."

"Sell your sob story to someone who believes you," Serena replied calmly, crossing her arms. "You have to be innocent to be framed." Thinking of the night of the party made her stomach twist in a way that didn't match that exterior peace, but she pushed it aside, kept playing at serenity. Georgina had committed the crime and she would pay, and for the first time in a long time, Serena felt like she really was the innocent in the equation.

"But that's it Serena, I am innocent." She wasn't, of course. Just stupid enough to get caught. "Would I do something like this to other people? To you? You're my best friend."

Serena has to believe her. It was the one hope she has left.

I don't know why I'm here. Word travels fast, and when I realize the name is one that I recognize, I'm not even surprised. People do all kinds of fucked up things, like I said, but this place, it's just a hell of a lot harder to get away with 'em.

I leave my name at the desk and make my way toward the back, grabbing the chair sitting out in the hall and dragging it forward, twirling it around backward and sitting astride the seat.

"Party a little too hard this time, huh?"

"Screw you," she shoots at him, leaning against the wall, her arms crossed beneath her chest. This is what she doesn't want. People knowing she's here. People coming and gawking, finding out what the hell went on.

Georgie is sure of one thing, she's going to deny it til the end. "What, you come to stare? Is this some sort of zoo now?"

"Well, there are bars," I say, nudging at the bottom of the door with my shoe. "How long they gonna keep you in here?"

She huffs out a breath, frustrated, slumping down onto the chair inside the holding room. Cell, is what it is. "Until they realise that I didn't do what they think I did."
