Karolina's spirits were high and her cheeks a little flushed from the drink she was not at all used to. She'd seen Chase and Lucy pick up their drinks without hesitation and so she'd followed, finding it more pleasant than she'd thought it would be. A little while into the party and she was feeling warm and giddy. She grinned and laughed at a joke made by a man she didn't know before Georgina caught her attention.
She smiled looking to Georgie at first and then at Octavia, flushing a little herself at the sudden proposition. She looked from Georgie to Octavia again where her glance lingered a moment. "Karolina," she said and because she was suddenly feeling a little outclassed, "From California... Hollywood," she shrugged, a little embarrassed but enjoying the attention. "Are you really Roman?" She gave Georgie an apologetic glance, but the girl had been right of course.
Whatever it was Georgina had given her, Octavia didn't remember the last time she'd felt this good. She'd been one for parties back home, but there'd been nothing like this. It felt like she was buzzing, more excited than she could remember being, and so Georgie's suggestion wasn't one she could refuse.
The girl they'd approached was pretty; she noticed that first, too distracted to see anything Georgina might have been doing. At the question, though, she nodded, as close to proud as she could get. "I am," she confirmed, with a short nod of her head. "My mother is the one who threw the party, in fact. It's a pleasure to meet you, Karolina."
"New York versus California, we could have a war here," Georgie teases, not really caring tonight. It's just the sort of thing they were almost obligated to joke about. West Coast new money against East Coast old. Like a lot of other things, it was swept away here on the island.
"Romans sure knew how to throw a party," Georgie raises her glass in a toast, her smile wide, "to parties, letting loose and having some fun."
She smiled warmly, clearly impressed by the other girl. "Wow," she breathed, putting her hands together. "Just, wow. Good to meet you. Good to meet you both," she repeated including Georgina. "All turf wars aside of course." She gave an openly admiring look to both of them. "You're both lovely," she said then smiled and picked up her glass. "To Romans then," she raised the glass up smiling at Octavia.
