The Mighty Steed of Smoke and Shadows refuses to even try to start. Combine the fact that he hasn't been started in almost a week with the 4 below zero F we had overnight (and have risen to only about 1 degree above zero), ANNND with the fact that he's been encased in a thin coat of ice covered by a few inches of snow ...... and there is no blaming

Be careful! We have such brutal cold for the next 9 days, I wouldn't want you to suffer any adverse consequences. Hopefully, The Mighty Steed will start right up with a jump. You have to report to the office on Monday, right? :)

I'm trying to be careful. Lots-O'-Layers! Thick layers, too! I'm not too keen on the idea of suffering "adverse consequences" either! ;-{ ;-b

Apparently, not Monday. Things are not as set-in-February-LakeHarriet as I thought. We're supposed to schedule our office return with our Supervisor, and I sent her my plan in a late Friday email. Don't know whether she'll agree with my not coming in until after my 2nd shot on Thursday morning. Should log in and see if she's replied over the weekend, so far.

The best case scenario would be second Covid dose and warmer weather. It's difficult to see anyone wanting to mov equipment in these polar temperatures!

The take-over process doesn't CARE what the temps are. It's not like the buyers/decision-makers are the ones who will be hauling computers and boxes of papers and so on through frigid wind chills and over slippery sidewalks and parking lots, you know.

I am hoping for the Thursday time slot, of course. But now, things are complicated by Mighty Steed issues. The long story has just been posted on my LJ page.

I've decided I don't envy you your snow after all. Having to shovel sidewalks in those conditions sounds horrendous.

I hope you manage to get the Steed jump-started okay! It's nothing like as cold here, but sellers of car batteries have been doing a roaring trade during lockdown.

Uhhhh..... I didn't get it posted yesterday. But I did today!

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I made an attempted to start up my vehicles last night at 10 pm when I took Maggie out one more time for the day. They both groaned a lot, but they did start.
So this morning after coming back with Maggie, I made the attempt again. The Saturn barely started, but finally did. The Trailblazer was dead on arrival. UGH!!!!
And of course the Trailblazer is behind the Saturn so it's not like I can still go out.
I don't work until Monday night, so no use calling AAA until tomorrow some time. UGH........

I broke down yesterday and bought Maggie some booties
I put them on her and she just lays there not wanting to move and won't until I go over to the door, open it, and start clicking the leash clasp. :o :o :o
Once outside she's okay, although she does trip on her feet occasionally. lol.......

I hope Steed will start for you soon.

Oh, you poor dear! It is SUCH a pain to deal with jump-starting cars. Especially when the temps are as frigid as they are today. (And since "frigid" is more likely to produce the NEED to jump-start ...................... I quote "UGH!!!!")

BTW: Thank you so much for the sweet card I received yesterday. I made sure to flash it at MyJeff shortly after he got home from work last night. He stuttered a moment then demanded to know WHO sent it? I admit, I dragged out telling him a little bit. But he was okay, eventually. So "Thank You!" for the extra entertainment, too.
