Wednesday afternoon I was back at the clinic to meet with a physical therapist who asked questions, manipulated my leg, asked more questions (including: "any pain?" to which the answer was often "yes"), had me do some therapeutic exercises, and told me my problems were consistent with hip joint deterioration. Naturally, he instructed me to perform

I plan to try with the exercises. For instance, I forgot 'em last night (Friday) so I'm going to do a set this morning and a second set tonight. The years of pain and discomfort, as well as the prospect of another surgery--are hovering in a threatening way to help motivate me to develop this exercise habit.

It's not quite the same thing, especially if some of your hip exercises hurt, but I found it much, much easier to do my prescribed 15 minutes of exercise an hour after dinner every single day than to go out and do a walk or other brisk exercise five days a week. Maybe we should consider a group walking activity every weekend or a couple evenings a week or some such with other fannish folk and friends once the weather turns reasonable. That would make walking much more fun and doable--as a social event.

That exercising my god. MDs always want so much of it done, sigh.
Oh, oh, prepping for the flea market, fun - Spring is on it's way :-)

So hard, isn't it, to remember to do the damn exercises. Tell you what, if you do your hip exercises, I'll do my neck exercises!
If we'd anticipated this total, would we have made different decisions? *sigh* Who knows?
You just can't predict these things. I've always preferred to stick with a car I know and have the work done, because looking for another car opens up a whole new can of worms. (Only last time a weaselly gentleman wrote off my car and didn't give me any choice in the matter. Grrr...)

MyJeff expressed the exact same sentiments regarding sticking with the car he knows. And I agree. She is a good car, just Very Used.

I did the make-up round this morning. And I'm determined to remember tonight's set.
