koko crater botanical garden

Went on the 2 mile loop trail hike at Koko Crater Botanical Garden. Here's a map and the highlights
of the hike for me. The garden was divided into different geographical sections, so later when I check
the original order of the photos, I'll update the captions.

OMG beautiful! I didn't spend much time in Oahu (I was there over the summer, for a trade show, and went to the Big Island for two weeks). LOVELY, a little slice of heaven.

I was apprehensive at first, but now I see why people LOVE Hawaii! Everyhwere you turn, the greenery!

There were just far too many golf courses. With any luck, they'll be covered in lava, and soon :)

it's funny you mention the golf courses, because this garden was adjacent to one - i actually had to drive through the course to get to to it. thinking: this whole waste of space could be a wonderful garden. (or covered with lava!)

yes hawaii is beautiful! i grew up summers here with my sister and grandparents and took it for granted until my grandparents passed away. i decided this trip that i'd forego daily swimming at the beach and go to the botanical gardens. i'd love to go to the ones on the big island, i've been there once when i was little and only remember going to the volcano national park and being really bored :)
